    http://docs.newquest.com/brochures/west-gray.pdf looks like this will be the next big lot to go but it is sad to see that they are advertising a fast food place for the lots use. Hopefully that does not happen.

    went over the weekend. i like it. nice outdoor area for chilling. should be a lot nicer when post midtown fills out a long gray. saw more land surveyors on the site next to junction again but no idea who working the development...

    I spoke with the midtown redevelopment authority. Although the east and west corner of the block between brazos and bagby along grey will be redone soon, it will be about 12 months until the sidewalk in between is redone. This portion of the sidewalk will be included in the Midtown Park re-do which is scheduled in about 12 months. I was wondering about cost and they said it costs $650,000 for 10 block fronts. So that is $65,000 a block. But, most of the detail and laber is in the corners of the blocks so I am guessing it would be about $25,000 just to re-do that middle section? Seems expensive but is a crucial part of the project that needs to be re-done.

    saw some land surveryors on the site closest to junction... -edit- I just spoke with ARA (they owners of the land), and they said the land is under contract to be developed into apartment complexes. When i asked if there would be retail he said that is always an option. Of course I asked if he could comment on the developer and he said no not at this time... He also said that things can fall through in this business but it is under contract. we shall see...

Brian says the Uptown project had its challenges: When Dinerstein bought the site from the bank last year, the seller didn’t want to deliver the deed. That tacked another 30 days to an already difficult transaction. A sign of the times, Dinerstein’s got numerous projects in the works that it picked up midstream.     what do you guys think about the development along west gray towards montrose? with post midtown expanding, majorca bistro, hefleys, junction, byzantio, the new Carnegie high school, etc.... do you guys think all this develoment could lead to a walkable strip all the way from gray and babgy to montrose and gray?

    The sidewalks are looking very good, lots of room to walk. However, after seeing those unexpanded sidewalks in front of CVS with just the east corner redone, it makes me think if the dirstrict should look into some sort of fund raiser to properly finish the project. Anyone with a construction background know how much it would be to redo this one side of one city block (without the redoing the corners)? You would have to see the other sidewalks around this area to understand the level of improvement I am talking about. Also, the western corner will be redone when Bagby Street is re-worked.

    Saw some windows going in on the added floor of the Boy Scout's building. I think this is where Landmark Houston Hospitality Group will have their office.

    I talked to Carlos who I think is the owner or manager. The new place is called Midtown Drinkery bar and grill. He said they will serve pizza, wings, and will have steak nights. They are trying to open next week.
