  1. Cool. We used to mountain bike back in there. There were some decent trails and lots of deer. That was until the Fern War of 1993-94. There was supposedely a protected fern back there and the tree huggers booby trapped the place.
  2. Agree with Moni. Of course Wal Mart looks dirty to Wal Mart haters. Just like I think Al Gore could use a bath.
  3. I don't think the NW campus would help UH's enrollment. The entire UH system has 50K plus as it is. This article is about the main campus. The part-time equation will alwasys work against UH. USNWR uses that against UH in rankings. I'd like to see part-timers at UHD/UH Sugar Land/UHCL and traditional students at the main camups. I actually think that is where UH is headed.
  4. When they said "high end" I thought it was something I could run a marathon, win Wimbledon, etc. Not "high end" as in I better make sure not be burn my shoes when smoking a joint.
  5. So this is "high end". "The Tipping Point is a high-end sneaker store that deals in hard-to-find and limited edition shoes." Partay pics: http://www.chron.com/entertainment/photogallery/Party_.html
  6. The location is a bear. And I think it's going to be hard for them until the construction across the street is completed. And what exactly is "high-end". I already throw down $100 on cross-trainers. How much more is "high-end"?
  7. Is this the best Peter Brown can do? So we have some less than smart townhome owners who have to look at utility lines. Cry me a river. With townhomes using every inch of land on a lot what do you expect?
  8. What's the line on the PS4? Smells like they are already working on this. The price cuts are part of their disaster recovery plan.
  9. What about faux-stret level retail instead? That what my building has. A Starbucks is in the lobby, which connects to the tunnel system.
  10. "Critical mass"? It's the Art Briles affect ;-) A long, long time ago it was supposed to be a Chilis/Bookstore/Cafe strip. But I think that was just one of those "feeler" proposals since that was about three years ago.
  11. That's assuming the lobby is on the ground floor. Allen Center's lobby is technically on the second floor, with (gasp) retail on the first. OK, the retail is a Fantastic Sams, Banc of America, etc. But still.
  12. All these price drops are proof that Nintendo is back, baby!
  13. Do we even have any buildings downtown with "great lobby space"? Many (like Wells Fargo) hardly have any, and what they have is not even worth looking at. Edit: The old Chase bank lobby is lovely.
  14. I also remember one using a flag and flag pole to demonstrate the hazzards of freezing rain.
  15. It's been a couple weeks since I went by, but the Travis side looks too skinny to accomodate anything other than a newspaper stand. Granted there is a store in the buidling next door. Not sure of the name of that building, but they added a new entrance on the Travis side.
  16. The Travis side is pretty ugly, too. Some much for street level retail.
  17. They are in a downward spiral. I saw one of their reporters using a bucket as a prop. And how about those Sunday newcasts where Rachel McNeil does the entire broadcast? I think they have better news in Tyler.
  18. Good lord, young man! Nobody asked for a cost analysis. Copgo simply asked what people think about the house. I think it's a bit boring for the price. And the the stucco/brick/tile combo seems to have an identity crisis. Why cheap-out with stucco?
  19. They are coming: Lucas confirms Wii-mote to be used as light sabre
  20. The Wiii is nice becuase it'll play all your GC titles.
  21. Not really. Look at the existing housing stock in the inner city. Talk about out of fashion. Why do you think we see so many teardowns? This is not limited to the burbs.
