Midtown Restaurant And Bar Scene - More Coming
houstonartstudent replied to WestGrayGuy's topic in Midtown
It's called Mainstage and I think they're already open at 2016 Main. Their website is leavetheboyfriendathome.com. I'm curious to if they have a dance floor and what kind of music they would play... -

looks pretty nice....most realistic part of the rendering is the lack of the future light rail -

Yep - was on the design team at my previous firm...if only they went with the full wall of multi-color tiles in the bathrooms as originally planned. Oh well -

If I were an evil overlord... err... urban planner
houstonartstudent replied to Simbha's topic in General Houston Discussions
Are cloverleaf interchanges that evil?!? I always prefer something like that over an interchange with lights. The only update I would possibly suggest is a dedicated lane on waugh for entrance and exit rather than trying to merge right after the cloverleaf turn (i.e. Memorial West to Waugh North). -
I'm not a sushi person, but my friends really like Zake...and they're open until 11:30 on weekdays. http://www.zakesushilounge.com/

Update - as of today, it looks like they're doing a complete shell renovation. The windows have been taken out of the entire portion of the building. I didn't realize how much of that building was for the gym - it looks like they can definitely fit enough amenities in there to make it a super sport

I definitely agree - even sans retail I think the place is an improvement nonetheless...now if the rent was just "slightly" lower I could move in

Man Who Walks Around Montrose With A Staff
houstonartstudent replied to kylejack's topic in General Houston Discussions
That's Merlin...I saw him just the other day and he had died his hair blue. I've never spoken to him personally but my friends have told me he's a pretty nice/friendly guy. -
The scene in the early part of the first Resident Evil movie doesn't really help to comfort anyone's fear of elevators either :/

Now I'm definitely depressed that I chose the new nano over the ipod touch

Noticed today that a new crane was up at Houston House...are the exterior renovations beginning?

I really like the proposed design, but I'm curious to know if the "bioswell" running down the middle would be create more of a breeding grounds for mosquitos than usual. I know we live in Houston and I should just deal with it, but definitely curious.

Memorial Hermann Memorial City Campus
houstonartstudent replied to ricco67's topic in Katy and Points West
http://www.houstonar...rmann-building/ Here's 10 pages of information for you. In a nutshell, the building is actually owned by Metronational and Memorial Hermann Leases levels 2-7 (the rest of the floors are medical office space or shell space for future tenant build-out. The crown houses the offices for Metronational...and you'd be surprised that the decor up there looks NOTHING like the building.- 589 replies
