  1. Just looked at the website and the Dave Attell opening night has been cancelled - hopefully saturday is still going on and nothing is wrong/damaged with the facility
  2. not sure if anyone's said this already, but I think they should just turn it into the worlds largest parking garage, maybe with a few restaurants on the top level....at least then it would solve the parking problem and still look good from the outside.
  3. If Academy is going in, they must be vacating their location near Voss/I-10...I liked that one as it was unique...and what's with the tenant list? Is this Katy?!?
  4. I think they just meant that it was exotic in that it was the only one in all of Houston. Maybe they'll be "exotic" again sometime soon if they don't get out of their slump.
  5. I think the little red trails better represent all the cars that will be stuck in traffic when this place is built...haha
  6. The pictures posted are great and much appreciated, but do no justice to actually driving by and seeing the angle the building is going out on....with each floor it gets more and more exciting!...I wonder if the people in Dubai feel like this, or is this architecture too "classic" for them?
  7. I looked it up on the ifoapplestore.com(main rumor site) of any future Houston stores, and the only one coming up would be at Willowbrook Mall...if they can have one why can't downtown?!?...I think it would be a hit with all the convention visitors and business people downtown.
  8. hey I have an interesting brochure that goes into the history of the site, I think I'd much prefer it over what's currently going in that spot where the construction is...hehe http://www.houstonarchitecture.info/haif/i...c=14856&hl=
  9. but I can't afford Armani, DeBeers, Fendi, etc....haha I do understand that Houston has a few great places, but isn't that saying about the grass being greener true? If not, I have no reason to live
  10. sorry I took so long to respond, the place I used to work at had a storage room in an area of the galleria, and our lease was not going to be renewed on news that they were going to build part of the store there. Manager said the leasing office said abercrombie was putting their fifth concept in there but it may have fell through. Ugh why can't Houston's Galleria have some of the stores that Dallas is getting. I've visited the one up there, it's nice, but the foot traffic doesn't even come close to the one here.
  11. went by The Grove today and "accidently" stumbled in...pretty nice and open atmosphere plus a bar that made it clear that they got their liquor license can't wait to eat there next month when my friend comes into town, I think it will be a great way to show off the city
  12. those tents were only there for that cirque du soleil or whatever event. It's currently just an empty parking lot, would be great to see a tower at that location, although traffic is already pretty bad over there(if they put a light to turn left onto richmond from the best buy parking lot it would probably be a lot safer)
  13. awww Chili's is good and I don't recall any being nearby other than the one near greenway plaza...besides I have a gift card for there from Christmas
  14. just found out abercrombie and fitch should be building a new concept store in the galleria, called gilly hicks...they supposedly compete with AE's aerie and Victoria's Secret...not sure when they'll start construction, but the store I work in has an off-site storage that we're getting kicked out of for this new store to be part of
  15. well they could probably fit a prototype McDonald's and "The Titan 2"
  16. great pics and it's cool to see the speedy progress when I commute on the katy freeway...the only problem I have is the terrible signage for the new "four points" hotel, it is the exact opposite of what I would think of as "upscale"
  17. I can't wait to see a site plan for the new tower and mcdonald's...it's driving me nuts trying to understand how they'll fit both on such a tiny plot of land...I would suggest just moving the mcdonalds over to the post oak and west loop intersection...but I'm sure all those business-folk from across the street wouldn't want to walk and extra block to get their imported beef
  18. well let's just pretend the new Embassy Suites is the hotel aspect of the pavilions...unless it gets scrapped as well
  19. I noticed driving by the Marq-E the other day that they placed one of these "police satellite locations"...now all they need are all the stores that left already And on the note of the actual topic, I'm not from the area, but I'm sure the bar was part of the bowling alley like others previously stated
  20. I hope they just own the land....It's a cool building out in the suburbs, but in town it's getting a little old...especially when 2727 Kirby is going to shadow one of them soon
  21. haha yeah that's probably a good one to follow...and JJ18 it's actually a store targeted for 22-35 year olds...kinda like the banana republic of the abercrombie company
  22. The Banana Republic is already there...they're adding a Banana Petites and GapBody in the "old" Forth and Towne space...and btw where is this Ruehl going and when(I've heard for the past two years that it was coming to the galleria)? The one in Dallas was awesome...didn't really care for the clothes but the store itself was a really neat concept
  23. ummm...that is the Hobby Center...I was using it as a reference
  24. just drove by today and they have a new sign up with an awesome rendering!!! I'd say it looks a little like the hobby center with the glass front, but with a curved front instead of an angle
  25. This place has gone up so quickly! It also crossed my mind that there will probably be a light rail station on Richmond near Kirby...would this be a practical distance to walk from Richmond to the new West Ave center?
