  1. That probably means the storefronts may be ready by October...but it could be like the Pavilions for a little while...
  2. Any reason they're imploding it?...I haven't heard of anything that's supposed to replace it
  3. http://www.memorialparkconservancy.org/ind...?menuitemid=229 here's pictures of what it's supposed to look like....should be pretty cool
  4. Closing in 3 months: BCBG Max Books-A-Million etc. etc. Just kidding of course...I really am hoping for the best, we're just lucky the Pavilions altogether was built rather than being postponed and scraped completely. I predict the restaurants won't be a huge hit right now...but they'll more than likely survive...and in 1-2 years the retail will follow and this place will get exciting again! For now let's do our part and dine at the places we want to keep
  5. Well I have a little bit of bad news(well a lot of terrible news really)...walked around this evening with some friends and workers were boarding up the "previous" Lids store...and then we walked past Journeys and saw they had tons of boxes of inventory, but upon further look it turns out they're mailing product out to other stores...so it looks like they'll be boarding that one up pretty soon. I really hope the restaurants can weather out this recession and hopefully we won't see any more stores close before this topic moves out of the "Going Up" category
  6. Will someone please show pictures of the progress?! Thanks!
  7. Found this tonight...check out the video on 11 news http://www.khou.com/news/local/stories/kho...80ed6b.html?npc
  8. I agree with the 24hour starbucks and the park idea sounds good, but there's a high probability of it becoming run-down like the rest of the center if they were skimpy on the maintenance budget. As for The Putting Edge, I went one time and I thought it was so boring. I'm a fan of moving obstacles or "looping tracks" and stuff like that, this one only had glow in the dark walls ok ok the skee-ball final hole was good but more of the holes should have been like that.
  9. The space was formerly occupied by Cameron (for oil or chemical or something like that)...anyways the site would require a ton of prep and "decontamination" in order to build on it and although the government offers incentives for developers it's obviously too much of a hassle for anyone right now to have any interest in building there
  10. And all of this has to do with the Pavilions how?!?...I'd rather hear an argument on the jumbo trons
  11. I guess I should start selling off my company paid-for spot in First City Garage right across from the House of Blues
  12. I'm really dissappointed that they didn't include an indoor ski park in the plan like in Dubai Geeze Houston! I think this is a great addition to the downtown area, I think in the next year after the economy swings up again we may have some exciting news as companies announce new stores for HP. I also think they were very creative with their common spaces in how the incorporated the drainage at an angle with built in seating and planters.
  13. Naw it's just the owner displaying their beliefs in a non-"IN YOUR FACE" way - Also, if you think Forever 21 messed up by placing their flagship store in an area with the wrong demographics, you should think of telling all the people downtown with that same yellow bag that they're shopping in the wrong area
  14. I still think it's a great space - just wish they would have a broader selection...on another note, I noticed on the pavilions website that Lids isn't opening until next spring, but the store looks almost complete...do y'all think other stores could possibly be opening sooner than projected? - I would think they'd try their hardest to take advantage of the Christmas season
  15. No Kidding - and I love how Judaism and all the other religions were put back in a section that I believe was called "other spiritual" or something like that
  16. It's Doable - might not suggest it at night though - I work in first city tower and sometimes the coworkers want to go to Frank's Pizza which is pretty much the same distance...it's not too bad but you will feel like you just walked off your dinner, which is always good I suppose
  17. There were tons of people in XXI - unfortunately they all work there and stand around doing nothing, just like Abercrombie and Hollister minus the people that walk around spraying the clothes with cologne
  18. Ha...Ha...real funny - Yeah they sell men's clothes up on the second level (very small selection though) - the one at mem. city has a men's section as well, really cool cheap clothes, some bad cheap clothes too though
  19. Just made my first purchase at XXI...this is starting to look like a bad thing to work only 2 blocks from the Pavilions
  20. Your update is soo last week - but yeah, looks like a typical mall website now, vacant spaces and all!
  21. I didn't realize there were still so many vacant stores...prime real estate for some big names, say apple?
  22. I don't think they're going to have an "opening party" per se for Cowboy Mouth, just a few nights of shows...and then the night of the Blues Brothers that your friend got tickets to will be the big celebration - I think most of the tickets were given away and then they auctioned off a few for a charity or something like that.
