  1. Yeah, this article introduced me to the term fern bar. I'm going to bring it back into fashion.
  2. Council Member Oliver Pennington is running. I'm definitely not going to vote for him after some of his comments on Council about bicycles.
  3. I know someone who did this. https://twitter.com/shooteditsleep/status/492057758040981506
  4. On Google Books I found an old copy of the actual article scanned in. On there they include some pics. Pretty cool.
  5. I put the year in the title of the topic!
  6. They locked in some great fuel rates a while back which allowed them to have lower rates than the other airlines. I think those have expired and they're now trying to figure out how to continue competing.

  8. I've been busy in Montrose passing out business cards.
  9. Ghosts don't exist, so there is no need to disclose them. Defects in the property do have to be disclosed.
  10. The last time I remember a long time personality leaving, it was Jerome Gray and he was announced shortly after as the METRO spokesperson.
  11. The ones that still exist in some sort of form are: Prince's Brenner'sAvalonChristie's SeafoodCleburne CafeteriaMolina'sOne's a Meal --> Became Theo's
  12. No. They are public streets paid for by all taxpayers. Leave all blocks as free parking. The few that have been switched to resident only parking (like behind Anvil) should be switched back.

  14. Road diets! Interesting stuff. Commonwealth is going from 3 lanes to 2. Dunlavy's going from 4 lanes to 2. Sawyer's going from 4 lanes to 2 lanes plus a center turn lane. Shepherd's being expanded 10 feet. Brazos is getting redone like Bagby already has been, with curb extensions, street parking cut in, and fewer lanes.
  15. That's the internal link for editing or something. Doesn't pull up the video for me. Okay, fixed:
  16. Check out "Traditional Dishes" here: http://www.thespringbok.com/food-drink-menu.html That's the Van Nuys menu, though ours may end up a little different.
  17. Not a fan of the crime NIMBYism, but anyway, tons of apartment complexes being built in the Inner Loop right now as well. Many going up right now on Washington, Dallas, Richmond, etc.
  18. There's a new rugby sports bar Downtown in the old Angelo's or Mantra space (next door to Flying Saucer). They weren't quite ready to open but decided to open early to show the World Cup matches. They have a few appetizers that they've been offering for free. Eventually they'll have a South African menu. This is the second location, the first being in Van Nuys, CA. It's a pretty fun place to watch a game.
  19. GoT is an extremely violent story in the first place, and this is premium cable where such things get played. I do have a few issues with how they have presented the material, though. Jaime is somewhat of a "good guy" and yet they depicted him as a rapist in the crypt scene with Cersei. This is a change from the actual source material: that interaction in the books was consensual. Why the need to change this to a rape? I didn't like that at all.
  20. Cops directing traffic. On the Westheimer route it was rarely an issue, though. Very few motorists showed up to cross.
  21. Is there any chance that they will open up operation to the parts before Hughes Street before the 31 months? Edit: Nevermind. I see it WILL be opened to Altic by this fall.
  22. Okay, so I wonder when the UH line will open.
