  1. Linbeck An announcement is listed in an AIA Houston brief from last month, skim down to the 2nd entry for May 4th. http://www.aiahouston.org/membersinnews.cfm
  2. The same, somewhat distant view of the top, from yesterday. Just one week later.
  3. I know, and we're in complete agreement. I was only pointing to ill-informed writers as being the only people who had actually leapt ahead and said actual construction had begun.
  4. They finished up fencing off the lot today. Kinda interesting that as they were finishing up, other nearby lots were charging a premium price for the Graduation Ceremonies happening at Toyota Center.
  5. Was out Sunday afternoon and took these shots from an Upper Kirby area garage.
  6. Actually, two articles (one from HBJ & the other from the chron) said, at least in the poorly written titles, that construction had begun. Groundbreaking never qualifies, especially if the concrete from the lot you're going to build on has yet to be broken up and is still covering the actual "ground". They didn't even get that far with 6HC, where they only had a social hour and a building announcement. FWIW, I saw they started installing more fencing around the perimiter of the site today. Specifically, starting around the part where Harvey workers had been parking during the construction of OPP.
  7. Here are some photos from today, now between the 20th & 21st floors Perspective from The Lake House at Discovery Green Porte-cochere These are actually from a week or two back, but they should give you an idea about how the facade will appear on the east side
  8. They finished it around the beginning of 2008. The building had trouble leasing as a commercial building, and became a professional office building. Since the hospital closed, I'm not sure were it stands. The rest of the rendering essentially looks like putting a glass facade on the existing office tower and part of the existing garage. Like Kinkaid said, that version has been around for a while.
  9. It already is a few floors up, and it really is an attention grabber just based on it's width even now.
  10. And another angle I managed to snap while stuck on Almeda this week.
  11. Construction on the office levels began about a week and a half ago, and since then, the structure's tower portion has begun to rise above the adjacent Stowers Building. Here are some photos from the past few days. Separation between parking & office levels
  12. I noticed that the estimates for construction have changed from around $55M in earlier articles to $34.5M in the most recent one. Is that a reasonable figure based on declining prices related to construction or is it just wrong?
  13. Here are a couple of photos from yesterday afternoon. Glad to see they're making progress on the roof, and the spire has now joined the peak of the frame.
  14. I was able to pop into the leasing center briefly recently and can fill you all in on a few things. The leasing center will formally open within 3-4 weeks. They're still finishing up a few things, but from what I've seen thus far, it's quite nice. Not jammed with clutter nor is it closed in. Nice and open, with renderings and the model. Now for a bit of extra info on that model... Each of the residential towers is in the model, though since no specific design has been picked, they're represented by opaque plastic forms which are in the general shape of what I'm guessing the developers intend the towers to look like. There are a few renderings of a glassy, curvy highrise of about 25-30 floors which are partially visible on some printed material on display and in a video that plays in the center. I was a bit pressed for time, but I intend on picking up some of the printed materials when the place formally opens.
  15. The beginning? Saw this equipment and a truck from Terracon at the site about an hour ago.
  16. Actually the heights were changed around the end of last year, at least for the internal version of the site. The heights listed run down like this, and are based on data from the original blueprints. -476.55 Ft to the top of the spires -367.78 Ft to the highest point on the rooftop, Just beneath the spires -293.78 Ft to the highest occupied floor
