Wow. I just drove by it a little over a week ago and it looked like it was still several months from opening. I would have guessed June 1st at the earliest. They have a lot of work to do.
-
There's already a Whole Foods a block away, on the north side of Bellaire Blvd. near Stella Link, with a CVS Pharmacy across the street. I guess they could put in yet another bank. Banks are popular in Houston.
Or a Walmart!

Interested in upgrading kitchen sink. Not standard sinks found in general box stores like Home Depot. Village Plumbing used to have a nice selection but they are gone. Please give me some ideas where to look.

Like Dallas, Houston's downtown is just to big and spread out. If you want to see a thriving and cool downtown, go to Fort Worth. It's the perfect size, everything within easy walking distance. Not a whole lot of retail shopping just yet, but it's coming.

I actually saw a British travel show on either PBS or the BBC channel a couple of weeks ago that was very similar. Might have come from the same source, although during the whole show they kept talking about our Metro Rail. If you had never been to Houston you would probably think we have trains running all over the city.

Looks like they will be near the new HEB.

I scoffed at the idea of bringing Manning here. Who would have thought he would recover so well from major neck surgery? This time last year he couldn't throw a ball 5 ft. Also, I expected much better from Shaub.
I should have consulted my crystal ball.

Venetian Estates.

Shaub is not even in the top 20 after today's debacle. Any of the top 4 rookie QB's (Luck, RG3, Tannehill, or Wilson) are way better, and will continue to improve while Shaub continues his downward spiral. The Texans have no future with Shaub. Hopefully they will realize it.
-
I have gotten a lot of flak for saying this, but I think Schaub is the next Mark Sanchez and honestly I believe he needs to go. He is too conservative and does not move around in the pocket.. the only place he moves is backwards (like last game one play he went back almost half the field!).
Also, I think we should do more passing plays on 1st and 2nd down and running plays when we are closer to the 1st down, although it is hard to trust Schaub lately with passing plays.
I agree. This was the year he was supposed to prove he is an "elite" QB but he hasn't done so. Good QB's find ways to win.

They just keep getting worse instead of better. Not looking like they will make it through the first round of the play-offs. Can Shaub play any worse?

By the way, Fringe, Dave Ward is with KTRK not KHOU, but with 45+ years on local TV maybe he does have influence even with the competition.
You right of course. I had a senior moment.

David Paul and Chita Johnson are both meteorologists with the American Meteorological Society Seal of Approval.
Was not aware of that. One thing for sure it's a cut-throat world in local tv news.
-
It was the tritter feed that got him fired. He was understandably unhappy with someone that wasn't a real meteorologist taking over his prime time spots. But it's always about ratings and what Dave Ward wants.

Isn't the world ending in a couple weeks anyway?

I think I'm the only one that wasn't a fan of the food. I like the concept of fresh local produce, cruelty free etc. I just thought the food was kind of bland, at least what I had was.
I'm with you.Only went there once but wife and I both though it was bland.

Very cool

I've always wanted to go there. Glad to hear you enjoyed your visit.

There's a reason the UH president lives by Rice and not UH.

I saw the train on Monday in Hearne while returning from Fort Worth. Almost stopped to see what it was all about. Wish I had now.

Kind of amazing - between Whole Foods, Sprouts, and Kroger Marketplace, we've got three markets going in within 5 miles of us. I was apparently horribly underserved by markets and didn't even realize it.
I don't know how you have survived this long.

There was the Bellaire Lanes on Bissonett just about 1/4 mile outside the West Loop near the "new/moved" location of Don's record Shop. It is till there but redesigned and has new clients.
It was at Bissonnet and First by what is now Charlies BBQ. Not much left of the old building now that the surgery center has taken over most of the area.

I want to say 72 but my mind was kind of foggy those days.

Perhaps similar to LaCenterra in Katy.
I wonder how all this development is going to affect the old Imperial Sugar factory development? Not that anything is happening anyway at the factory. I haven't noticed any work being done in the last year.
