My favorite "stretch" is River Oaks Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge.....south of 59 on Kirby......

Yes - been a few times....Texas mud (like 7-layer dip) is good....ritas are good (at least the Patron ritas are good!)....fish tacos were terrible (soggy tortillas and nasty fish)...chips/salsa good....

We ate there once.....the waiter could barely bothered to give us a drink and chips -- he actually never came back to see if we wanted a second drink....we had to ask the manager for the check....and the place was almost empty so it wasn't like he was busy -- never went back...

They are now open....

They have started work on this project -- tearing out sidewalks and the small road that went through the middle...

LOL -- I have mentioned that a few times to others that live here....

The people who own the units that are right up against the garage have definitely expressed their anger regarding the garage's construction -- it was always a possibility that something like this could be built on the lot -- I knew that when I bought my unit....originally it was going to be another bar, but obviously that fell through... I don't think any of them are trying to sell at this point... The builder has met with us (EDGE owners) to discuss how they could "beautify" the cement walls (plantings/vines, paint, etc)...I don't know if there has been any final decisions on that...whatever they do, it won't restore the view

We walk down there all the time to eat -- it's cool watching all the new development also....the patio at Majorca is really funky....too bad someone doesn't do some rehab on that yellowish building just east of Taft (in the edge of the new school's property)....it looks like someone started redoing it a while ago but then quit ?

I will miss the self checkout lanes ...it's much faster to go through with a few items than to wait in line behind the person paying by check for a gallon of milk.....it's super easy to scan, bag myself so my chips/bread aren't smashed, and be on my way....

Walked by there last week, it's still under construction....you can see inside, it's pretty much a wide open space right now...not sure if that's how it will be when finished...also couldn't tell where the outdoor portion will be, assumed it was directly above, but couldnt see anything going on up there...

Yep -- some of the end units are very close to nice cement walls now....I at least have the pool between my balcony and the cement wall !

Wow -- looking at the pics on Swamplot, the lofts/condos will be priced from the $400s.....

Are you serious?? The guy was on the run from SF where he shot multiple people, had a stolen gun, etc....

the front "point" of that rendering looks like it would fit well where W Gray and Webster split off from each other as you drive towards downtown

They must be working only on the interior -- the outside hasn't changed in a long time -- glad to see it is still happening...

They are still working on it -- but it doesnt look much different on the outside....not close to being finished from the looks of it...

Construction at the Boy Scout site is continuing full steam ahead -- not much more to see yet, as they are still working on the foundation (underground stuff)...supposedely Bagby is going to be closed around the construction until August...signs are up all around the area for detours...it is still open as of this morning, although it is only one lane

They were working well into the evening pouring the concrete footings/foundations/peers for the Boy Scout parking garage -- it's moving along quickly also...

Is the parking garage going to have ground level retail? Some places say it will and others just say a 7-story parking garage with no mention of retail...
