  1. Wait, isn't that only like the halfway point? You could barely put weight on it for the next 10+ miles? I woulda gave up so fast.
  2. I know seniors who like to have drinks, but I don't think seniors are gonna want to go to Clutch, Standard, or Lincoln.
  3. I feel like if I was a senior looking into places like this, I wouldn't want to be so close to those bars. Kind of a weird location.
  4. Now we know for sure! Looks like the future of these other towers is in jeopardy
  5. I question that as well. I think the building looks fine, but the window color is terrible.
  6. East of The Allen and north of Dallas isn't part of Freedmen's Town is it? That could be prime area for development.
  7. They were working past 6pm yesterday finishing up the concrete pour on the first floor. It was dark even with their work lights, so no picture.
  8. I wasn't clear with my comment. I was adding to KirbyDriveKid's comment where he said they often drop those design ideas. I just meant to add that instead of dropping pavers altogether, they'll go the stamped concrete route which I personally don't like. Yes, they're clearly laying pavers in that picture which I like.
  9. It's not the same really, but there are apartments above home depot in Manhattan so it wouldn't be unheard of. And target as ground floor retail has happened before a few times. It really could be a cool area. There's a bunch of other developments going on around the area so we'll just have to be happy with those.
  10. I understand there is a need/demand for these stores, but then put them at the ground floor of a residential/office building like what was done with HEB on Washington.
  11. There are a number around here as I've been looking as well. Will at least do a discovery flight. I'm a bit of a nervous flier but super interested in planes. One way I've worked on my fear is learning about planes and flying procedures. Next step is to get in one and fly it. These are on my list: https://www.txflight.com/ https://www.unitedflight.com/ http://www.westhoustonairport.com/flightschool/flightschool.shtml https://americanflyers.com/houston-tx/
  12. I'll be gone for two weeks so this is my last progress picture of the year. It's been fun watching the steel workers climb around on this.
  13. I think it matches the renderings. Link to Urbannizer's post from 2019:
  14. I really liked how the empty office looked lit up in orange during the grand opening. I know it would be one very expensive art installation, but I'm ok with it.
  15. That's still insane to me, but you're right, I have seen too many $2K apartments that size in random places around town. But still better than LA, Chicago or NY
  16. I dunno, the 1 bed/1bath units top out at $3744/mo. That seems slightly insane to me. Maybe I just haven't been looking at enough high rise apartments and that really is pretty normal in the area.
  17. How likely is it that those were made out of country and sitting on a boat for months?
  18. I was wondering if anyone new anymore info about this project. I was thinking of moving from the 3rd floor courtyard view to the 4th floor downtown view in the Arlo apartments. I don't really wanna deal with construction noises though. Their website says 2025 as year built.
  19. I would love to have a Washington Ave rail line. With the projects planned in the area it seems like they could justify it. Of course by the time it happened I likely wouldn't live in the area.
  20. It looks like its just repaving, but I was hoping for a bigger project. Washington can back up bad here for no real apparent reason. Not sure how to fix it, but longer turn lanes when traveling east on Washington could help. People turning either direction onto Studemont can end up blocking people trying to travel straight through.
  21. Some road work has started between Heights and Studemont on Washington. Does anyone know the details of the project? Is it related to any other projects on Washington like Buffalo Heights District? They have the top layer(s) removed and you can see the red bricks below in some spots. Imagining Washington paved in bricks is a fun thought.
  22. Yeah, Art Vandelay works there. He's thinking about giving up the exporting and just focusing on the importing.
