  1. They had a segment about it on the news last night. Did anyone watch it. I missed it.
  2. Just because it is in a book does not make it true. Yes even referances books, or especially referance books. "We are an arrogant species who thinks we can understand and impact this world" = me
  3. Well there is a portion that was built by Harris County and a Portion that was built by Fort Bend County. Do these 2 different authorities not control the stretches that fall within their jurisdiction?
  4. I guess we lived in Greenway. one block north of Joplin on Greenstone Drive.
  5. As I stated earlier my mom bought my clothes 90% of the time from the Penny's catalog. I had a lot of bugle boy clothes. That or I got my brother's hand-me-downs. I do remember going into Gulfgate and buying some shorts and shoes from Vision Street wear. sort of skater clothes. Skidz LOL
  6. No, just that their misfortune or whatever is not an excuse to steal and litter. Obviously feeding your family trumps other things so I can not judge someone I don't know.
  7. I don't remember throwing coins in it but I remember pulling them out I hope as a child I didn't steal anyone's wish. We lived within walking distance from the mall. And I have fond memories of going to the arcade, bowling alley, and movie theater, my mom's church choir singing at christmas time in the mall, etc.
  8. Typical of the way our society/culture is going, this thread has turned into a how else are the poor people wih no cars going to get their groceries home discussion(well among a few). We should feel sorry for them and turn a blind eye. They are stealing grocery carts and leaving them along the side of the public roads contributing to urban blight. Just as some tend to want to ignore or sympathize with illegal immigrants who are putting a heavier burden on the rest of us in so many ways. We have little carts here at work that fold up for carrying pland or documents on those would work fine. However if you need to go spend $150 on grocieries or more and can't haul them home you should be able to afford transport or know someone that can transport you would think. Where I work in the Westchase district the sidewalks and roadways are often loaded with grocery carts from Kohls, Target, Randalls, etc. I suppose due to the abundance of Apartment complexes in the area.
  9. I like the smell of a good warm fruitcake. No wonder I enjoy reading HAIF!!
  10. With my limited experiance/knowledge of apartment development I would venture to guess that the average tract is closer to 15 to 20 acres. We tend to build big apartment complexs in the greater Houston area. This is garden style. Now It can definately be done and is more typically in an urban setting but not neccesarely. They can go up with condo style or townhomes more likely on that size of land. I am not very familiar with pearland zoning rules either.
  11. George Michael's "Last Christmas" Wayyy overplayed and way to gay.
  12. #1. Typical aggies running around looking and driving like jerks. Let me paint a picture for you. Chevy truck lifted at least 2 inchs, obnoxious stickers on rear window, grill guard for no reason, truck nuts hanging perhaps. driver seat buzz cut jerk with an attitude. same tired look from 15 years ago. it never changes, sounds like my high school. And no I wasn't picked on. And I have nothing against Aggies or the university.
  13. Seems to me this is more about policing taste than a driving hazard. They want to clean up the clutter under the guise of traffic safety. LIARS.
  14. Just more of a reason for the BIAS media in this country to not sway public opinion of a sitting president and his policies at the detriment of our country.
  15. Does Chipotle have a drive thru? Is it really fast food? (with respect to this list if it doesn't have a drive thru)
  16. I am definately straight but there may have been a time where I decided to choose to like girls yes, I think we all were there. I also had experiances around this time when I was molested and was ignorant to what was happening to me and how I felt about it. I could have chosen a different path of course. I also learned what I was expected to do with girls and I learned my attraction to some degree from popular culture and other natural ways. So you agree that If I view homosexuality as a choice than my conclusion of not attibuting civil rights to them is correct?
  17. From one "nut job" to the peanut gallery.... How can a homosexual claim civil rights? Do polygymists have claim to civil rights? I didn't think they did. I understand you guys claim you can't conform to society. I guess we all have to wait for the discovery of the ever elusive gay gene. Then we can talk inalienable rights. I'm going to be honest, I am not trying to bait here... Really my problem is that I am disgusted by homosexuals, by the thoughts of the things they do. I picture images from the Fulsum Street XX fests. I'm put off by the faries that throw on their manerisms and twinky voices. To me it has been and always will be a subculture of people that for varying different reasons choose to jump the fence into a taboo lifestyle. You have to know that tons of Americans feel this way. I don't want you to hate me, I don't hate you. I just don't want to have to explain this ____ to my kids Based on my beliefs on the originality of homosexuality I don't see how it can ever be considered as a people, that is without question up to the standard of a group that is worthy of rights that are granted to those of us that are born with things that we can not control that cause us to be discriminated against.
  18. Really? I thought I was the only one who voted for Bob Dole. Wierd.
  19. Trae, he said it all very well, to the point and honest. Let's drop the PC BS. The way he described the degradation of West Oaks mall was on point. No other way to say it. Katy Mills mall may be on the same path I hope it can turn around. That being said I have no fear or apprehension going to that mall, it just looks like a train station with service straight to Mexico is located next door, seriously I think some of the people that shop there must be Mexcian nationals. I have no problem shopping there as long as people remain friendly and the retailers that matter to me stay put. West Oaks is another story I would not want my wife and son going there alone.
  20. I have yet to see this one and I have heard several reccomnedations for it. I am pumped about seeing the new Bond movie.
  21. I voted for the McCain/Palin ticket because I am more in line idealogically with the Republican ticket this year and I am not buying what the MM are selling.
