  1. I wonder if this sporting goods is an academy, I'm hoping so. I realize it is real close to the one at I-10 what other sporting godds stores do we have? I think sports authority is pretty worthless.
  2. 1. I think we can all agree discrimination is bad. (I don't think anyone claimed this) 2. If I have to tolerate something or someone it is a nuisance. If you want to live with other's like yourself than just get on with it. Hell as a middle class white anglo saxon bigot , I did. Seriously though, I think this city is progressive enough that you would feel comfortable in any of the afore mentioned neighborhoods. Spend as much money as you can. Yeah debt!! And don't sacrifice your family's security or education for selfish reasons.
  3. Last time I went to a relative's house in Cedar Park, coming in on 71, I took the 130 toll north to the 45 toll west to the 183A toll north to cedar park. that was a lot of tolls. Might have saved me 15,20 minutes maybe,
  4. Ha Ha Chess King. Sadly My Mother bought all my clothes for me out of JCPenny catalog. I got beat up alot!
  5. Than why all this complaining about the economy and housing crunch. I am prospering out of my own free will and desire to work. To hell with the rest of them if they can't keep up.
  6. This is a silly presumption Barrack Obama was just as much an unknown on the national scene not that long ago. I am overjoyed that it is not Romney and is a fresh younger face to go with the old man into battle. I have to admit that she is easy on the eyes.
  7. Spoken like a politician, without true regard for the opposite parties' viewpoint as you know it is, instead twisting it into an almagation of things that are half truths and fears.
  8. really, that's awesome, always wondered what your user name and avatar suggested.
  9. From your Tongue in cheek" comments I assertain that you have an issue with sprawl but you seem surprised that we want more retail and grocery stores. You see as some see it, the more they build quality retail and grocery stores closer to home the further we have to drive, thus reducing gas dependance and Shocking! encouraging walkability and sense of community. Also, someone correct me if I am wrong but I believe that there was a smaller specialty grocery planned for phase II of La Centerra, possibly Whole Foods.
  10. Rain has picked up a little bit and we are getting a light steady rain right now in the Westchase district.
  11. Just an update for those not local. I know looking at the radar it looks like we are getting pounded, however here on the west side of town we are getting a light drizzle since 7:00 AM this morning with 4 mph gusts. (I am at Westheimer and Wilcrest in the Westchase district) Anyone else care to update the action where they are at?
  12. I had my first child last year he is 8 months today. That said I haven't been to the theatre since late last year. I miss it big time. It is time to do it. Question is, which was better Iron Man or TDK?
  13. ne of the best reasons to vote for Bush was to keep Gore and Kerry out of office.
  14. I was just saying to the wife the other day, that we will be saying Remember back when freeways were free?
  15. Oh No, 2 of my favorite places there, Academy and Hooters.
  16. Even the Dark Knight feeling the gas crunch!!
  17. I had a 12 monthe contract end with First Choice power about 2 months ago. I didn't think about it, but they moved me to their month to month plan. first month on that KW usage rate went to .19 took 6 weeks to get off of their plan. then it went to .22. We have had bills of $330 and now $470 in the meantime. We have now moved to month to month with Reliant at .15 right now. What little I know about it I would not sign up for a contract right now while the rates are the highest (peak summer) And I would watch for when the contract expires and see what your options are when that happens. This sort of thing has happened to 3 people I work with also. Hope this helps.
  18. This is not confined to the Katy area we have clients building apartments all over the Houston area. All those people who cannot afford to get into a house now with tighter lending practices and the current "economic downturn" are bound to have to live somewhere.
  19. What the %$#@ is this. Only on the internet do people think they can get away with ludicris statements like this. Welcome to HAIF, by the way. Let me get this straight though, just because I live in the Katy area I don't know what good food is. Or I shouldn't expect good food!!!! This area isn't full of Appalachia hillbillies. Have you even been to this location? I have been to several, and I think the food is great here.
  20. We used to stop here after work, before going to Astros games at the Astrodome in the day. They had good margaritas, decent, cheap food. Last time I was here was last year as a similar meeting place/eating place before going to a Dynamo game.
  21. There is a Cheddars at Westpark and Beltway 8. Just south of where the Cinemark was. It has been there for years, it's all right.
  22. Dude, all this is on you for buying a cheaply built house that you are obviously not happy with. The onus is on you to do the research on an area and the homebuilder/ quality of materials before making such a large commitment. And lets please not go to Puma levels of generalizations. Just because your house is the suburbs in cheap (your words) not all of them are. There are a lot of choices of homebuilders in the Houston area and a wide range of price ranges. If you feel the developers got one over on you than simply put you didn't do your homework. Not trying to slam you, just the inferance that an apple is an orange because it is round and falls from a tree is getting old.
