  1. phase 1 of La Centarra opened march 1. They had bands playing this weekend. we drove by looks very nice. i think i read in the Katy Sun that 75% of the retail is open in phase 1
  2. there is an article in the latest issue of golf digest about the growing popularity of nine hole golf courses and the origin of the current 18 hole standard. There are plenty of times when i'd like to get out and play golf and do it for 2 and a half hours as opposed to 5. this all being said i have never played gus wortham. I understand it is a hassle to get on at memorial(but i would like to do it) and i have played herman several times and enjoyed it. this all being said whats wrong with the astrodome location? couldn't we demolish that relic and put in a world class soccer stadium. there is all that existing suface parking.
  3. why are you so fixated on race is the real question? to answer your question about the astros, off the top of my head, Preston Wilson last year. But I 'm sure what you are implying is right they are passing over the best talent because they don't want any "black" players. Are there a wealth of black athletes playing division 1 college baseball, Are they wasting away in the minor leagues. Or are they interested in other sports? or no sports at all? who cares. Bottom line is I want the texans to put a winning team on the field. You are just looking like an ass pulling out the race card.
  4. Oh so i missed this goal for the offseason, hire more "black" coaches! Is that the measure of a good staff to you? You make yourself seem less credible everytime you post in this thread. Can you explain this to me
  5. I think it's a great place to shop. Do you have any experiance shopping there?
  6. if nearly complete means 40%.... granted that is more than what is typically found I believe she is dated at somewhere around 3 million years if my memory serves me
  7. Any news on who will land as as our new offensive "corrindinator"? Couldn't resist, sorry.
  8. I might be the only guy on here that wouldn't mind David Carr back. I am all for more competition for his job and will be pleased if someone comes in and can be better than him. I of course want the team to take the next step forward and win more games, I just don't think they were there yet as a team this past year. Too many rookies starting and players on I.R. to overcome. I am also of the opinion though that too much emphasis is placed on the quarterback position in terms of making or breaking a teams shot at winning in the league these days. Sure the QB touches the ball on nearly every play and it's his job to distribute it. But he needs all the peices around him to work too. We had several games with no running game and others where we had no pass protection, plenty where AJ dropped numerous catchable balls. I think Eric Moulds was a bust this year and I don't think I've heard that anywhere. He doesn't seem to have the skills left to get down the field with speed anymore which is what should help open up our offense. Of course, that is mute if the quarterback has no time or pocket to even escape from. Of course this could be all on Carr's percieved lack of pocket presence and awareness. We all know you could look at it either way: it's on the injured o-line, or it's on the quarterback. I just won't be heartbroken if we have another great draft and free agent season and carr is still here, In that case I still see the team improving to .500 ball or better. I seem to have become a David Carr apologist because I have become annoyed with the baseless arguements of the talking heads on the local talk radio. With there undying support for Vince Young(who is a division rival) and how he single handedly leads his team back in games when in 3 out of 5 games it's his defense that has forced the fumbles and picked up the interceptions late in games and VY finishes it off with a 10 yd touchdown run to be proclaimed as the Leader of the comebacks and the savior of humanity. sorry for the long rant just wondering if I am alone in my support for whatever the Texans decide is right to get this team on the winning track
  9. that quaterback for LSU looked pretty good last night. is it Jamarcus Russell?
  10. what would you guys say if washington offered you clinton portis for the 8th pick of the draft?

  12. oakland san fransisco tampa bay minnesota buffalo cleveland detroit and maybe chicago
  13. no matter how frustrated you guys are with the texans offense as a whole or Carrs progression on a crappy team in a new system with an injury riddled O-line, you are foolish to think he is a backup i think there are plenty of teams in the nfl where he would be an upgrade over there starting QB.
  14. what was the name of that other ride that dropped you there, preceding the dungeon drop? was it the sky screamer? it had an agonizing beep that would go off two or three seconds before it dropped you i liked that one but it scared the crap out of me! I remember my brother getting kicked out for taking his seatbelt off on thunder river and jumping in, he claimed he and his buddy were thrown out!! last time i was there was the mid-90's on a fright night halloween night. I could tell we didn't belong there anymore. This was confirmed when we were walking across the parking lot and some kids ran between us and the shots rang between us as some other kids chased them shooting. good ridance as it's time of family fun was done in my eyes. but I'll cherish the memories except those last ones.
  15. I went to Deady middle school as well before we moved out to the burbs. This was like 1988 and 1989 though. I am 30 now. We lived on Greentone Dr. near Gulfgate Mall.
  16. This is where the apatments are going where the warehouses are torn down, I posted a picture over a month ago in this thread.
  17. Any new news on this or when this it will open? http://www.mhcenturyproject.org/locations/...p?c=k&p=hos found this link. It looks like it will open to the public in January 2007.
  18. There are already people I know complaining about the walmart built on 518 just east of 288. They say where did all the black people come from? I have been in there and it does not appear to represent the racial make-up of the area. But guess the lack of shopping to the north has a lot of people traveling down cullen to 518. I think the answer as to the lack of the development is right on with the school district and the south acres area along with the industrial businesses mostly along the west side as you get nearer to town
  19. I thought it was funny they have been calling for Romo all year and were cheering for Romo when he came in and first pass he throws gets intercepted. thats priceless.
  20. every time i think i am done posting in this thread. I see that people still are not thinking about this straight and its probably a lost cause but dammit people pay attention now! here it goes. unlike the stupid @ss arguements in this post smoking effects other people. when you choose to eat fast food you are not affedting the health of the person sitting next to you. The same with addictive movies/games?, pollution is controlled , however a neccessary evil in our society until there is a better alternative.
  21. those are all baseball stadiums right? wasn't reliant the first nfl stadium to have a retractable roof?
  22. I own it too, I guess I nead to rewatch it to catch your point. May I suggest resevoir dogs to you, watch the opening scene in the restraunt for more on this topic. Funny stuff from Mr. Pink
  23. the website has been updated with new construction photos. http://www.lacenterra.com/
  24. not mad. but dissapointed they have to get some more creativity in the running game or maybe it's all just lack of talent running the ball. Seth Payne going down will hurt this team too.
  25. on fox i thinkIt's amazing that Carr and the texans are having even the mild success they are throwing against cover 2 on every down. and it will be that way until they can bust some big running gains for the defense to respect. Obviously the Texans would rather have DominicDavis right now but Dayne has looked pretty good to me. He is hard to tackle and has a good motor, always falls or dives forward, the kind of back i like to see. One that you feel confident will get you a couple of yards if that is all you need. that said he would be a good compliment to DD because so far he has yet to get over about 65 yards in a game. I think though if they can get an early lead instead of playing from behind. they will have the luxury of being able to run the ball more. It worked great for the first quarter against Philly!
