The title of this thread is not a reality where i live and not a reality with ANYONE i know. Im a supporter of rail and mass transit but only as an option. Give people the choice to drive thier own cars or use mass transit and not lie and say Houstonians want more public transit over thier own cars. Houstonians want less roads, my ass!

I have This would be good for us. It would eliminate the current path which is a bit of a hassle. At present we have to go IAH-IAD over night in IAD. Then the next day go IAD-FCO-ADD. Cutting DC out of the mix will shorten the travel time

President of Ethiopia is exploring the idea of flights between Houston and Ethiopia onboard Ethiopian Airlines. I know of atleast one family that will make use of them!!! Made the announcement today while in our city for the Lucy Exibit in the Museum District. Would be a great add to the list of foreign flag carriers here. I think the city of Houston should annex most surrounding burbs, housing developments as well as businesses. It would make for an interesting time in local city gov. when the people in the burbs get a full voice in the happenings of the city as a whole. Whining and complaining about Houston taking over is a losers attitude. Welcome the fight! Those that would be taken over would come in with a loud and ever present voice to decide on the future of the city. Annexation would also give us a stronger voice in Washington to get back more of our federal dollars for our area!

Agreed, but im sure you know it isnt just redevelopment, its expansion. The traffic here is already a freakin nightmare and Xmas time, its even worst. I literally dread leaving my home and getting on FM 1960 and surrounding main streets. Absolutely insane!

I say build a nice jail there on the same scale as the new courthouses that have sprung up in the area, atleast on the exterior. Call this area, Justice District or something like that.

Really? I dont know much about Fondren SW. Here is a snap shot-----the owners of these complexes are not always local. That gives said owners a feeling of assurance. I travel out of the country with work. That travel takes place on airplanes. The airlines have frequent flier programs in which one such as myself can have free travel awards. The mileage awards are many. That said......... It is one thing for the owners of these complexes to recieve letters and phone calls of complaints. This isnt the Heights or some other community in Houston that have a collection of loose idiots. The people that reside here are people which hold positions of power in many places. It isnt hit or miss as it is in other areas of Houston, its assured. Given the right leader or leaders to pool that talent and resources, things can and will change. Print it!!
