  4. You're welcome. I do my best to search the forum beforehand to see if there is an ongoing thread. However, I noticed topics weren't appearing in the search. I began second guessing myself because I remembered seeing the topics. Still, the search brought up nothing. I then scrolled through the forum and found the topic, clicked on it, and it was archived. Now that we know that archived topics is a recent action across the forum, let's hope it can be undone.
  5. Thank you. I see you sent a personal message later in the morning after my post. I appreciate it. I'll respond momentarily. Fingers crossed that the archiving issue can be resolved. Thanks again.
  6. Last month, Community Impact published an article on Sophie. The article provides a little more insight about the concept. As mentioned, Sophie is a new cocktail bar and lounge from La Ciel Hospitality. It's opening soon Montrose Collective. According to an Instagram post from the brand, the bar will span two levels. The upstairs terrace is meant to remind guests of sunset on the French Riviera, and the downstairs bar will be painted darkly with rich textiles. https://communityimpact.com/houston/heights-river-oaks-montrose/dining/2024/03/22/new-cocktail-bar-coming-soon-to-montrose/
  7. There is a website for Sophie. Sophie is opening soon at 910 Westheimer Rd. It replaces Idle Hands in Montrose Collective. https://sophiehtx.com/

  11. @Urbannizer @Triton if possible, can you consider merging this topic with the one linked below? This is part of a shopping center, according to HCAD records. The shop consists of 602-610 W Alabama St. https://www.houstonarchitecture.com/topic/46098-acadian-bakery-at-604-w-alabama-st/
  12. @editor can you please provide further information about the recent addition of archiving topics? Why was this feature added? Are topics archived by a moderator? Or are topics automatically archived after a certain amount of time has passed? I've messaged a few members and they noticed this as well in recent weeks. We're wondering if it's possible to remove this feature. Or at the very least, limit it to other subforums where there is little to no activity. There have been new developments for several topics I wanted to share, but that's not possible. The topics are archived. There's no way to search for them on the forum because they don't come up. They are completely hidden. You have to search on Google to find them, and that's only if Google crawled the page. Or one has to scroll through pages on the subforums to find a topic that's archived. And when you find the topics, you're not able to post anything because it's closed. I could see a need for archiving topics in subforums like HAIF on HAIF, Off Topic, Way Off Topic, and The Weather. Many users or visitors don't post or visit those forums often. But the other subforums? Mainly the Going Up, Neighborhood, and Traffic and Transportation forums have topics where projects and developments are discussed off and on over the years. That's largely in part because renovations may happen down the line, new ownership, and the list goes on. For example, there's upcoming renovations for the Westheimer Center. I was going to post about it, but couldn't find the topic. I knew it was here. I saw the topic a few months ago. So, I Googled the center's name and the forum to find it. Lo and behold, the topic exists, except it's hidden from the forum search. Why? It's archived and closed for further discussions. I understand the cost of running this site and storing everything on servers is not only expensive, but takes a lot of storage. But I'm hoping there's a better way to keep topics open. Especially ones in the neighborhood and Going Up forums. https://www.houstonarchitecture.com/topic/39286-westheimer-center-at-1212-1232-westheimer-rd/
  13. A plan reviewing fee was purchased today for 2702 Yale St. Details from the permit: Use: Conversion; retail FCC Group : Non-residential alteration The listed occupant on the permit is Bahama Buck's. Bahama Buck's a national chain specializing in shaved ice and snow cones.
  14. The admin of Houston Heights Foodies claims Space Cadet is closed at 4002 N Main St. He didn't provide additional information. The admin of that group posts wrong information all the time. He posted as a fact that Spices 39 would be an Indian restaurant and was dismissive when others told him it will be a Chinese restaurant. He told his followers the former Revival Market space will be Pepper Twins. Several people corrected him that it will be Cooking Girl and that the news isn't an exclusive as he posted since it was announced months ago. He was dismissive about that too. And the list goes on. So, it may be worth waiting for a more reliable source for confirmation. I reached out for confirmation via Space Cadet's Instagram and the owner's Instagram. If I hear anything back, I'll pass it along.
  15. Thanks for the update, @hindesky. Shell Recharge, an EV charging station, is indeed in planning for the properties at 4309-4317 Washington Ave. The filing lists Shell Recharge's Washington Corridor address as 4315 Washington Avenue.
  16. Thanks for the update, @hindesky. I would have liked to see something else built at 216 Tuam, but there is a need for more electric vehicle charging stations in Houston. A Shell Recharge (EV charging station) should be a welcome addition to the area.
  17. First off, welcome to Houston Architecture Information Forum. Secondly, regarding the sale of 2360 Rice Boulevard, I want to be clear that my initial post was speculation. It is true the county clerk's database doesn't show a recent change in ownership. However, LoopNet shows the property is under contract. And since Randall Davis announced plans for Chaucer, my assumption is Oxberry Group may be close to selling the property to Davis.
  18. According to a recent press release, Lick Honest Ice Creams opens next week in Autry Park. Community Impact reports the scoop shop will make its debut May 3 at 3737 Cogdell St, Suite 130. Lick Honest Ice Creams is one of several ground floor retail tenants at Hanover Parkview. https://communityimpact.com/houston/heights-river-oaks-montrose/business/2024/04/24/lick-honest-ice-creams-updates-opening-at-houstons-autry-park/
  19. Thanks for the update, @goofy. It's appreciated. I hope this is moving forward. The renderings looked promising.
  20. I'm still unsure what all 1318 Magic will entail. Although it is described as a medical cannabis dispensary in its Instagram bio, I don't know if the kitchen will be utilized. 1318 Magic received multiple violation from the city's health department last week. During its change of ownership inspection, it was cited for "food establishment construction / remodeling / alterations / [beginning] before submitting properly prepared plans / specifications for approval."
  21. The name of Hearsay's latest concept at 737 Preston St is either Tavern by Hearsay or Market Square Tavern by Hearsay. Hearsay's tavern concept replaces GJ Tavern in Market Square Tower (777 Preston St.) https://marketsquaretowertavern.com
  22. It appears Buffalo Bayou Brewing Co.'s former Sawyer Yards digs will house Tejas Beer. The brew is from Houston's Gulf Coast Distillers / Giant Texas Distillers. I don't know if this will be a production facility only. There is always the possibility the distiller could include a tasting room and kitchen. Perhaps Gulf Coast Distillers will announce their plans for 2101 Summer St soon. https://tejasbeer.com/ https://www.instagram.com/tejasbeer/
  23. I didn't know about the Idaho location. That's news to me. I'm glad Millie's thriving and is able to expand. I hope their forthcoming Washington Ave restaurant does well. Wonder what changes Millie's has in mind for the space?
  24. It appears Heights Marketplace is adding Glosslab to its roster. The mani-pedi shop lists the shopping center as one a forthcoming location on its website. It will be located at 436 W 19th St. https://www.glosslab.com/book-services-v2/heights-marketplace
  25. A second duplicate certificate of occupancy permit was purchased yesterday for 1541 N Shepherd Dr, Ste 1000. Details from the permit: Use: 4,398 sf restaurant buildout 1-1-2-A2-B '15IBC 100%SPK FCC Group: Non-residential alteration Via 313 is the listed occupant on the permit. The pizzeria will be located in phase two of the Market at Houston Heights. The Crack Shack, a chicken-centric restaurant chain, initially planned to open in the space.
