  2. A few days ago, Comma Hospitality announced a new concept is debuting this summer. One of the hospitality team's dining concepts is Neo, a reservation-only omakase counter. The announcement didn't disclose the name of the concept. I'm unsure which concept Comma Hospitality will introduce. The group has several dining concepts in the works, at least three that I'm aware. The three dining concepts coming soon from Comma Hospitality: Kira - I'm not sure what all it will entail. However, it will be located in Shops at Arrive River Oaks. It's taking over La Borra Cafe's former space at 2800 Kirby Dr, Suite B-128. Kai - That's the working name for what may be the brick-and-mortar location for Neo. It's located at 746 W 24th St. Piedra I'm thinking the announcement is referencing the group's forthcoming River Oaks concept. Caption from the Instagram post: We are thrilled to introduce our newest concept, set to launch in June 2024. 5. Plans for 746 W 24th St were approved for permitting in October. A screenshot of the plan review inspection report is posted below. Use: 1,,554 sf convert residential duplex to restaurant 1-1-5-B-B '15IBC FCC Group : Non-residential alteration 746 W 24th St is the location of Neo's long-awaited brick-and-mortar restaurant. 6. Last month, 2X Studio announced it will involved in the design for a new restaurant concept replacing Alice Blue. The name of the restaurant was provided at the time. However, the name of the restaurant is Agnes and Sherman. It's opening at 250 W 19th St, Suite A. Recently closed Alice Blue after 20+ years of service. Here for measuring day for a new restaurant concept. We hope to help our clients become an integral part of the food service industry in the Heights Community. https://www.instagram.com/p/C4iJd0zgldf/
  7. An architectural barriers project filing for 250 W 19th St, Ste A was registered a few days ago with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. The filing is for Agnes and Sherman. 8. Chron.com published an article on Space Cadet's closure. Fairly certain, the reporter only covered it because it was posted to Houston Heights Foodies' Facebook group. Regardless, Chron.com notes a closure notice on the bar's website. The reporter speculates the property could be cursed. Past tenants, mostly in recent years, were mentioned. More from the article: Space Cadet, which debuted in January 2024, unceremoniously shut its doors sometime in April... In an email obtained by Chron, Space Cadet owner Collins Orr told an unnamed party the restaurant was not doing enough sales. Friday, the restaurant’s website displays a single word: 'Closed.'" https://www.chron.com/food/article/houston-heights-restaurant-closes-address-19425327.php
  9. Tonight is Heart's last day of business. The night club announced its closure on Instagram this week. Located at 5002 Washington Ave, Heart is one of several nightlife concepts from Houston's Clé Group. It's also the hospitality group's latest venture to close. In addition to Heart's closure, Cle Group has closed the following businesses in recent months: Bisou - 4444 Westheimer Rd, Suite A-120 Post Oak Lodge - 4747 San Felipe St I think Cle Group may have sold or leased (or may be partnering with other operators) their Midtown and Downtown venues too. I'm not fully certain. Cle Group advertises their original venue Clé at 2301 Main St, Suite 400. However, alcohol permits and state permits filed in recent months show a club name The Encore at the address. It doesn't appear The Encore is affiliated with Cle Group. I As for Spire, the downtown night club at 1720 Main St closed late last year, I think, for renovations. Their Instagram lists the club as closed, but for months stated it was closed for renovations. Permits show a new operator for a club named Dome. Below are photos from inside Heart. The photos are from the night club's Instagram.
  10. In an Instagram post today, Concept Neighborhood posted that they've broken ground on the patio planned for The Plant at 3401 Harrisburg Blvd. The Plant is part of Concept Neighborhood's multi-block development named The Plant / Second Ward. Breaking ground (literally) on what will soon be the most bumpin' patio in 2nd Ward! https://www.instagram.com/p/C6Rf729g8mJ/
  11. The rest of the progress photos Boucher Design Group posted to Instagram. The Block at Midtown is located at 2020 Travis St. https://www.instagram.com/p/C6MuAjIO-Cw/
  12. It appears Albi closed its doors a few weeks ago at 1947 W Gray St, Suite 200. There isn't a post announcing the closure on Albi's social media. I also don't recall seeing an Instagram story about it. Albi's Google listing is marked temporarily closed. Replacing Albi is Fancy's, a new nightlife concept from Clé Group. I think this may be the concept CultureMap mentioned last fall when incorrectly reporting Albi closed. At the time, Cle Group told the the publication they were in talks to take over the space. Fancy's will be Clé Group's second go-round in River Oaks. The hospitality group operated Bisou at 4444 Westheimer Rd, Suite A-120, in River Oaks District. The restaurant and lounge closed earlier this year. Based on Fancy's Instagram bio, it's an "elevated bar and lounge...offering specialty cocktails and bites." It appears the Instagram account for Fancy's was previously for Bisou. I think Fancy's aims to open this summer. https://fancyshtx.com https://www.facebook.com/fancyshouston https://www.instagram.com/fancyshouston
  13. I see there is a recent certificate of filing for Okto Mediterranean LLC. It's connected to Sof Hospitality. The group is behind Doris Metorpolitan, Hamsa, and Bandolina restaurants. Perhaps the filing is related to the rumored Montrose Collective restaurant? Sof Hospitality is said to be taking over The Chelsea's former unit at 888 Westheimer Rd, Suite 119.
  14. I wasn't aware of The Chelsea closing its doors at 888 Westheimer Rd, Suite 119. The Chelsea's website is still up with no closure announcement or thanking customers for their support. I don't know if such an announcement was posted to the restaurant's social media. However, The Chelsea's Instagram has either been removed or renamed. I hope you're right about Sof Hospitality (Doris Metropolitan, Hamsa, Bandolina) taking over The Chelsea's former space. If it is, may whatever the group have in store is able to last a few years. As for Mi Luna, I noticed the formation of a limited liability company for Mi Luna recently. I didn't think much of it. For some reason, I assumed it would be part of Zoa (the owner's Moroccan restaurant.) I'm not sure why. But if the tapas restaurant is relaunching in Montrose Collective, that's good news. Originally located near Rice Village at 2441 University Blvd (now home to Frnds), Mi Luna was the spot back in the day. It was one of my favorite places to go when I was in my late teen and early 20's. My fingers are crossed that your source is right about Mi Luna taking over Picnik's unit at 888 Westheimer Rd, Suite 126.
  15. Leasing the 3101 Main St unit is Doves. It's a new, locally-owned restaurant specializing in Southern-inspired fare. Initially, Doves planned to open at 5524 Richmond Ave. Below is a CultureMap article published in 2022 announcing Doves. https://houston.culturemap.com/news/restaurants-bars/08-02-22-doves-new-restaurant-southern-food-vibe-dining-chef-tiffani-janelle-hw-hospitality-group/
  16. Thanks for the update, @Amlaham. I figured as much. Instead of opening at 5524 Richmond Ave, Doves is leasing a space in Midtown. The restaurant's new location is in Midtown Center at 3101 Main St.
  17. Below is an LoopNet listing for Midtown Center, a commercial building at 3101-3109 Main St. The listing was published to LoopNet in October, according to the date posted. However, the leasing brochure is outdated. The unit at 3101 Main St was advertised for lease. In recent years, the space was home to Vietnamese restaurant Saigon House. Prior to that, Cafe Helene the space housed Cafe Helene. Midtown Center also includes 3105 Main St. The space was occupied by a nightclub named Bliss. https://www.loopnet.com/Listing/3101-3109-Main-St-Houston-TX/29801189/ https://www.loopnet.com/viewer/pdf?file=https://images1.loopnet.com/d2/ehdztlUZ7RMAWAkUX9awavUQl8bxDBBWDOHYjk8IomA/3101 Main Lease Flyer.pdf https://images1.loopnet.com/d2/ehdztlUZ7RMAWAkUX9awavUQl8bxDBBWDOHYjk8IomA/3101 Main Lease Flyer.pdf

  19. Map outlining the 3101 Main St parcel. The parcel is on the corner of Main St and Rosalie St. Located on the parcel is an 8,000-square-foot building.
  20. There is a website and Instagram for Perseid. Perseid is the latest dining concept from Bludorn Hospitality. It's opening in Bunkhouse's Hotel Saint Augustine at 4110 Loretto Dr. http://perseidhouston.com https://www.instagram.com/perseidhtx
  21. CultureMap has details on Perseid's design. Perseid is the latest dining concept from Bludorn Hospitality. It's opening in Bunkhouse's Hotel Saint Augustine at 4110 Loretto Dr. From CultureMap's article linked above: Post Company, a New York and Wyoming-based design firm, is designing the restaurant in collaboration with Bunkhouse. Details will include “ombre dipped wall treatments” and “hand painted textural abstract murals,” according to press materials.
