    Below are retail trade area maps showing Magnol / Magnol French Baking coming to 1115 E 11th St. The maps are from sales materials for a nearby property linked in @springcityparts' above post. It seems the bakery is expanding to the previous home of Andy's Home Cafe in the Greater Heights area.

    Thanks, @springcityparts for finding this. I suppose the Google Maps listing I saw for Magnol / Magnol French Baking at 1115 E 11th St is accurate then. I figured it may have been incorrect because I inquired about it to the bakery. Their response or a response from a representative? The listing is wrong and they aren't opening another location. I've found that many restaurants and bars are dishonest when inquiring if they're closing or closed, expanding, relocating, or the like.     Unless I'm missing something, it appears the Instagram post doesn't offer any new details. The rendering is already posted to the forum. It was shared on the first page when the project was officially announced. Also, East Blocks has noted in its press release, on its website, and its marketing brochure the mixed use will include retail and restaurants. Same rendering posted on page one:

    In addition to coverage of Harold's closing its restaurant space at 350 W 19th St, Ste C, CultureMap also provides an update on Blue Tuba's opening. Blue Tuba is an Euro-Tex restaurant taking over the second floor and terrace space previously occupied by Harold's. The restaurant was announced last fall. According to CultureMap, Blue Tuba anticipates opening in March at 350 W 19th St, Suite E.     Harold's announced it is closing its doors this weekend after ten years. According to CultureMap, the restaurant's last day is Sunday, March 4.     It's likely Pie Tap / Pie Tap Pizza Workshop + Bar is leasing or in negotiations to lease a space in Montrose after all. A sales brochure for nearby properties showed Pie Tap possibly coming soon to 211 Fairview St last fall. The restaurant is a pizzeria with locations in the Dallas and Fort Worth areas. About two weeks ago, a entity filing for Pie Tap Fairview, LLC, was registered with the state. I assume the filing is for Pie Tap at 211 Fairview St. Additionally, there appears to be plans for another Houston location of Pie Tap. As mentioned in the topic for Novel River Oaks, an outpost is likely opening in the development.

    Below is an updated image outlining the properties purchased by Black Family Hospitality (BFH). The photo was taken recently by @hindesky. I included the 1301 N Shepherd Dr parcel BFH acquired last month. Black Family Hospitality is the group behind barbecue restaurant Terry Black's Barbecue ( Terry Black's BBQ ). It's likely the following parcels will become a Houston outpost of Terry Black's Barbecue: 1301 N Shepherd Dr 1311 N Shepherd Dr - former home to used car dealer H.E.D.     Earlier this month, Houston Business Journal reported on Kokoro expanding its footprint to Midtown. As mentioned in a previous posts, Kokoro is opening a brick-and-mortar restaurant in The Ion development. The Japanese eatery will be located at 4111 Fannin St, Suite 110. An excerpt from the Houston Business Journal article: Additionally, chefs Patrick Pham and Daniel Lee plan to open a new Kokoro location at the Ion, according to a filing submitted to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation...     Houston Business Journal reported on Cafe Ion earlier in the month. I somehow missed it. As mentioned in a previous post, Cafe Ion replaces Common Bond On-the Go at The Ion. Common Bond On-the-Go was located at 4201 Main St, Suite 110. An excerpt from the Houston Business Journal article: The Houston Business Journal has confirmed that the Common Bond On the Go location in the Ion has closed and will be replaced with a new concept called Café Ion.     There is a rumor Black Family Hospitality may also include a boutique hotel somewhere on their acquired Houston properties. The boutique hotel is in addition to the likely Terry Black's Barbecue restaurant possibly opening on the property. Has any of you heard something similar?

    Clé is no more. The day and nightclub located at 2301 Main St, Ste 400 is now known as The Encore. I don't know if the club is a rebrand by Clé Group or if it was sold it to another party. Being that this is one of their more lucrative venues, I doubt the group sold the club. Social media posts for Clé are advertising upcoming events at The Encore. However, their Instagram account still lists the venue as Clé. The club's Google Map listing was changed from Clé to The Encore. So, this may be a rebranding from Clé Group. I suppose some of the local news outlets will cover this in further detail as the club nears its opening in a few days.

According to the warranty deed, 3L Shepherd LLC purchased the 1301 N Shepherd parcel. 3L Shepherd is a subsidiary entity of Black Family Hospitality. Black Family Hospitality is the group behind barbecue restaurant Terry Black's Barbecue ( Terry Black's BBQ ). So, what may be a Houston outpost of Terry Black's Barbecue will occupy the following parcels: 1301 N Shepherd Dr 1311 N Shepherd Dr - former home to used car dealer H.E.D.     Yep. Random Capital has been marketing the properties at 1111 Westheimer, 1201 Westheimer, 1124 Lovett Blvd, and 3032 Yoakum since late 2023.     A food and beverage concept named Cafe Ion is opening at The Ion. It's occupying the unit at 4201 Main St, Ste 110. Common Bond On-the-Go previously occupied the unit.

    Houston Chronicle published an article last week on Vuji Cafe. The restaurant is located at 718 W 18th St, Suite H. It's the latest addition to Lowell Street Market.     Correction: Based on the above site plan posted in November, Suite D is available for lease. The suite was home to Kale Me Crazy, a health-focused restaurant chain. It appears Kale Me Crazy has been closed since late 2023. However, their Google listing switches back and forth between open and closed temporarily. At present, Kale Me Crazy is shown as open on Google Maps, but it is permanently closed.

    An inspector visited 1040 W Cavalcade St recently (i think today) due to a 311 report. The site is the forthcoming home for cocktail bar Heights Hideaway. According to the note on the 311 report, the site received a red tag for work without a permit. Below are the notes from the report: H51 on site visit for complaint construction without permit. Upon arrival on site walked the property the gate was open in the parking lot and observed worker on site was working inside the building and there were construction materials on the found. The outside of the building workers were installing irrigation system. There is a door on the front side of the building that was closed off. H51 enter the building and could see that there was construction going on inside. At time of visit met property owner and explained the reason for my visit. H51 explained to him for all work been under construction must obtain different trades permit. Posted first red tag to stop all work and obtain remodeling permit.
