  1. I generally call those people "Douche Bags", but that's just me. One of the surprising things to me is how good Spec's burgers are! I went there to just grab a sandwich and saw they had burgers, so I had to try it...OMG, good stuff! Anayas and ferragos is pretty good, but they should also have mentioned some of the "steak night" at Front porch (good price!), The turtle races at Little Woodrows, and they didn't even talk about "Fish."
  2. We could always count on you to look for that dark cloud in a silver lining, Debbie.
  3. I did look at the debates, the others didn't have much of a compelling case. Have you made up your mind yet? I don't look at a person's age for a job like this, especially when it comes to a job that has to be "renewed" every two years, it doesn't matter. Hell, you can be 25 and get killed falling down a flight of stairs. As far as his voice and look goes, that is pathetically shallow and sounds like someone who doesn't know how to get to a conclusion without critical thinking.
  4. Well, earlier this year, I had to voluntarily gave up drinking Monster because it was pushed me into the first stages of diabetes and had to stop, and I NEVER finished more than half of one! Since then, I cut down on Cokes (and only usually drank the Mexican version. ) and drank more water than coke during meals. Lost some tonnage already just by cutting that from my daily routine!
  5. Well, for the lack of anyone that I feel would be more qualified, I'm going to go out in a bit and vote for Brown. Poll anyone?
  6. Well, if Parker is elected, you can imagine all this might not get built anyway.
  7. What is interesting is trying to establish the baseline as to what "average" is. I consider it rather unfortunate that people have a tendency to judge another person's intelligence idiotic indicators such as "He agrees with my views", has an accent, or dresses sloppily. So, should we put you on the short bus or big bus?

    Flu Shot

I HAD swine flu last april. It's not fun, my immune was already compromised by another flu I had earlier in the week, but fought off. The feeling that I was HOPING for was death. I'm sure a HAIFer or two would have liked it, but I was praying for it. LOL. It was the worst feeling. Ever. As soon as they're available, I'm getting the shot. If you're smart, you'd get it too.
  9. "Media Matters" is a joke. All they really seem to target are the "right wing" spectrum of radio and TV. I've read quite a few articles, off and on, for several years and it's mostly crap. The only thing they get partially right is Hannity and only a little bit and I *HATE* Hannity! Let's not forget the "Fake soldiers comment" that supposedly was run on Limbaugh. That was a total hatchet job on itself. Believe me, I'm NOT a fan of Limbaugh either.
  10. Don't forget to shoot twice. A double-tap is a good way to make sure they stay down.
  11. Well, it wasn't aimed at you, but simply the topic title. I'm on the phone so I can't really peruse through the links that have been provided. I think your quest will be a difficult one because to get the information you want, you will have to get many people to open up to you about a very private subject. Anyway, in reality, its RADICAL religious people from christians, islam, and catholics that have been the major instigators of violence because of their lack of tolerance of other religions. Then again, I never heard of a Radical Amish person...
  12. Then I say we should ban all religions. Its only fair. That's like saying we should cast all people from one race into an oven to be rid of it.... oh wait, I think someone tried that already.
  13. Oh, I totally get it, I'm just saying that it doesn't need to be modified. Overtime it will continue developing like it is and those that want to visit it, an, but there is no point in going out of its way to develop it into something it isn't.
  14. People don't NEED a reason to go to the east end any more than people NEED a reason to visit West U. The area will develop much differently than midtown and a different pace. Slower or faster I honestly don't know. If anything, mom and pop places as well as more service oriented business will go up. The only people OUTSIDE of the east end that will go there might be the kids from UH, TSU, people visiting friends and family, or people going to work at the various small business and industrial areas.
  15. Then by all means, feel free to dive after the oysters and have at them. I'll buy half a dozen please.
  16. Truly. I'm a "Don't feed the animals" when it comes to homeless people, but even *I* know that there are differences on how and why people become homeless. Perhaps you should elaborate which "homeless" people deserve to be homeless?
  17. BRT would be a good solution for lines to intersect to current and future lines. Parts of kirby, Braeswood, Macgregor, Westhiemer, memorial, and Allen Parkway would be good options for it. The lines can be built out in relatively small sections and convertered as needed. Once the ridership numbers and density increases, the funding for a proper system would be easier to get for elevated, or perhaps a subway system.
  18. Well, I was hoping to vote by now, and considering the debates weren't that enlightening, I still have no clue to vote for. Of course, I already decided against Annise.
  19. Well, I'm just hoping that developers would make something for working families that don't mind living in downtown or "inside the loop". Particularly those that are on the verge of being Empty Nesters.
  20. Ed: I REALLY miss the "-" button. Like in every profession, you're going to find good people, bad people, highly skilled, and those you wondered why they got hired in the first place; but you're not going to be able to tell that in an encounter that only lasts a few minutes. When I get pulled over, I have my ID and insurance ready, greet the officer with a smile, hand him the info, answer questions, accept my ticket, wish the officer a good and safe day and move on with my life. Its not really that hard.
  21. Well, I am sure plenty of people will die on that day, but it will have nothing to do with the end or the world. I plan on sitting on my front porch and watch the rest of the world go into a panic and realize the world did NOT end and explain some of the poor choices they had made in thr days prior. Hell, I might get a new kitten.
  22. Its quite possible that it could have that streets address, but its hard to say for sure. The fact that its involved in the erection of some sort of structure behind there would be a bit funny. Happy?
  23. Just happened to be driving by and I spotted a huge crane behind (I think) the Men's clubor the Marriott garden inn. I couldn't quite tell what it was doing there aside from just quietly sitting there.
