  1. Traffic is my only reason for not shopping in 1st Colony Mall often. I can stand moderate traffic but Hwy 6, especially around 59 is just too silly to me. Signal lights around the area could be better but instead of the city working on that and easing people's lives, they put in cameras. It's funny the way they reason.

I see why they put UP the cameras people knew they took too damn long and refused to stop...:P

  2. I've known Cecilia since her days as an intern. A class act all the way. Good to hear she's doing well.

I saw Cecila at Office Depot last week with her daughter in Sugarland. I gave her a polite smile as she checked out. I didn't want to disturb her...She looks amazingly young off camera.

  3. There was an R&B store @ there, and a beautiful bank, Harrisburg Bank. Long glass panels all around, with floor to ceiling drapes. There is one like it at the corner of OST & Kirby (by Reliant). I can't place that Funeral home. Is it where the Furniture Store was?

What's R &B store? There was a "friendly furniture" across where the conoco now stands. They used to put a carnival up where it is now. The funeral home was a Guillen And Sons. On the north side by broadway across from the bank's sign. The Scoreboard at Deady MS still says "Harrisburg bank" The gordon's still has clothes inside...I wonder what will happen to it.

  4. I have a bottle of Vicodin at home left over from a hospital visit. I have never opened it. I am kind of saving it for a special occasion.

I take vicodin regulalry...It's 1 am and i'm awake. Not like me. Luckily i can skip every once in a while so i know i'm not addicted to them. Got rid of my cough though. :)

PS: Vicodin sucks, It only works on me for 1 hour or so, then my tummy hurts.

  5. I really think they contribute to the awful light pollution we have everywhere.

Light pollution?! You guys are nuts, This is a BIG city, i tried to get on the freeway a few times and couldn't see the on ramp. 610 in front of Astroworld is bad at night time. On 225 a mile or so of cable got smashed by an accident and all the lights went out. Ironically The city of Houston installed a new electrical line from Goodyear to Richey in Pasadena. One foggy night on broadway i almost ran over a guy cause it was dark and foggy. They had high mast lighting but it was off. I called and emailed the city/TXdot and they repaired it.

  6. Plenty of Funyuns down here, as disgusting as they are. I haven't seen Mello Yello in awhile. I would check eastward, like Mississippi or Florida. BUT, sometimes you can ask the vendor to put Mountain Dew in there and they might. Instead of the local vendor, have you tried here yet ?

    Coca-Cola

    1 Coca-Cola Plaza

    Atlanta, GA 30313 USA

    Phone: 404-676-2121

    Web: www.cocacola.com

If that was for me, yes i've tried the local coke bottler. I stopped at a garge sale one year and picked some up and the women said they bought them at Sams...Chucke cheese has the label on the fountain machine but tasted like sprite with water.

  7. Where can one find Mello yellow in Houston? Our company switched to coke and they tell us "you can order it! but, it's not a lot of stock available." When i tried to order it they told me it wasn't available for our market...

  8. I've yelled at people when they get out of their car after doing this. I just don't have patience for it anymore.

I was in the parking lot near Reliant Stadium where Frenchy's Chicken is the other day and there were so many people doing this that I may never go back there again. I was literally scared to drive out of the drive-thru.

Some of us work in that shopping center..You can't believe the number of near misses there...

  9. I really don't mind second hand smoke, it reminds me of going to baseball games with my dad when I was young. I don't even care if people want to mess up their lungs. Really doesn't bother me. What does bother me is that for some reason cigarette smokers think they have free license to scatter their butts everywhere. I hate pulling up to a stop light and looking down to see hundreds of cigarette butts that have been gathered by the wind. Then there's the guy who's standing next to one of those butt holders the city or building puts out, but chooses to drop it and step on it. Even worse, I'm hiking in a beautiful wilderness, where there's no litter to be found - except cigarette butts. It's disgusting, and it's making our country (at least across the south I've noticed) look like crap. I know there are already fines for littering, but I want to see this enforced for smokers. Every butt out the window, $200. Every butt in a park or other public area, $200. I always tell people to pick up their crap when I see them do this, I hope others can keep up the trend and these inconsiderate smokers will learn one day that the world is not their ash tray. Every time I go walking I pick up whatever reasonable trash I can carry, I hope others can do the same. Litter just pisses me off. So prevalent, so easily preventable.

It pisses me off to see the people throw there Shi$ out the window...You car, clothes, and hair already stink like... Keep the butt in the car...

  10. I haven't listened to local radio in 4 years, XM has everything I need. No way I can go back.

I take my XM to work and it's on all day, I got tired of the gallery furniture commercials.Plus i even subscribe to weather and traffic on my Kenwood DNX 7100 My 10 year old cousin went to see "Mac" and said he was a jerk...Go figure :)

  11. If you know what you're looking for, the office supply stores are sometimes great. I was shopping for drives a couple of weeks ago and the one I wanted was $100 less at Office Depot than even at Fry's!

You guys need to pick up a sunday paper once in awhile, OD has cheaper prices on alot of tech items, I picked up a canon rebel XTI when they first came out for 640 (was 20% off plus emp discount) Canon tends to rotate the prices 10 % off one week 20% off others.

  12. The tip is dear to there heart, I frequent Chili's on fairmont often. They know us and they take care of us. Most guys that are waiters are jerks, They often ask for my ID in a rude way when i order my beer.(Can i see your ID?(like come on i know your not legal look.) My rule any where i go "You take care of me, I take care of you."

  13. If your home is old enough you can find past owners in the US census records. Census records for 1900, 1910, 1920 and 1930 have homes listed with street addresses. The records are available online at Houston Public Library website with a valid library card.

    What's the address?? URL?

  14. Not to mention that local radio is free.

We need to *grow up* with the "Free" crap...20 mins of music and non stop talk about Lindsy Lohan. That's just Mix 96.5 and "Hi there it's your radio, I hear you're buying a new car<insert brainwash HD radio crap>

We listened to this jazz station at work, i hated it thank god it's gone!

  15. Well, when I purchased my Nikon Coolpix (I think that what it was), I liked the zoom, the ease of use and clarity of the pictures it SEEMED to have (I brought my own SD card and took pictures in the store).

When I used it in the real world, the stills were often blurry and nothing I could do (including placing the camera on a rock solid platform) would do the trick.

The pictures that I had put up here were usually the result of taking multiple pictures and go home and hope at least ONE was acceptable.

What I'm looking for is a step up with quality, speed, and zoom. I'm HOPING to not spend more than $500 bucks.

I wouldn't mind the Nikon D20, but I'd like something that I can easily carry around.

Canon SD 850 IS works fine. The Nikons "L" series feel like crap to me .
