  1. The City of Houston does a little maintenance along the TxDOT roadways. Sometimes they'll fill a pothole on the feeder. I've even witnessed COH crews changing out bulbs on the high mast lighting fixtures.

I emailed TXdot about some High mast lighting and was told the city "maintains" them. (TXDot/contracter installs them intially)

  2. :D Which color of the rainbow are you becoming?

I just went out by the pool and it's soooo nice with the sun going down and all.

WxBoy, is there an explanation as to why the OZ is low and air quality good? Also, the pollens are moderate. WTF is messing with my sinuses?

Yeah, it sucks....!!! I was in LA and it was bearly 70 degrees out!!! We had to buy cheap sweaters!

  3. They could hang out with the Sunbeam-parking lot-speed-trap gaggle of cops!

Or all along the "south loop" :)

    Ugh, Great i was right

(from the cops website, this airs saturday)

<Deputy Raymond Parker of the Harris County Sheriff's Office pursues a vehicle whose driver is wanted in connection with a family violence call earlier in the evening.>

  4. Security lets dad in without a ticket? Is there a special policy for parents dropping off children who are flying alone?

I had a friend who asked me to walk her to the gate. SW just said "if they ask it's because she's special needs." They gave me a slip, i went thru security and waited for her plane to board...Then i left.

  5. lol nice joke :)

i think being a window washer on a skyscraper would be crazzy.

atleast you have peace and quiet while you work.

Yesterday seemed to be the big day, the observation side of the chase building was getting washed. The small Shell building(?) and a few other buidlings closer to the Pierce.

  6. They shouldn't have sold Astroworld at all. They said it was profitable but they were selling it because they got a good offer. Now I'm happy to see their company burn.

The park was profitable...How ever, they didn't get a good offer on the land... Check out sixflagshouston.com for the full details.

  7. Six Flags just hasn't been doing well. They need to sell, sell, sell (only down to Over Texas, Over Georgia, St. Louis, Magic Mountain, Great America, Fiesta Texas) and KILL Mr. Six forever! They should've sold AstroWorld instead of demolishing it, for one...

Fiesta Texas is lame...and so is the Dc one. They should focus more on service in the park. Rules/policy's are not the same everywhere. Magic Mountain was a big eye opener...

  8. There was this huge deal a few years ago when Earthlink was dropped from providing wifi/constructing the network. Has anyone heard ANY development or anything regarding what's happening? I know downtown(Discovery green) has it but it sucks. I found a link on COH website dated '07. I know the Pecan Park, Ingrando, deady and milby area have something provided by TFA-Houston.

  9. I've noticed many of the trees along the freeways were planted and maintained in somewhat of a haphazard manner (crooked, lack of topsoil and mulch, planted too close together, lack of weeding). Some palms can also be trimmed of dead underbrush, which would make them look much better. Many of the palms on the Gulf Fwy looked bad before Ike, but I agree the storm probably worsened the situation for the weaker ones.

They should put more along 45 and woodrigde.Maybe to block off the the fools that keep driving off the road to avoid traffic.

  10. I was looking at flying into KMFE(McAllen) and noticed a few airlines had BS flights. From KMFE-KAUS-to MEMPHIS, charlotte then back to IAH... WTF?

*scratches head* i don't get it...

  11. Can't you just go back in time before it died, make backups, then come back to the present?

There is a company called "drive savers" i've heard of and seen commercials for. You may want to invest in a Windows home server system. My system backs up one hard drive to another and THEN i have a backup drive for the backup. The new HP system handles MAC.

  12. Firefighters are battling a four-alarm blaze at a Gallery Furniture warehouse next to the main store on I-45 North. The fire, which broke out at about 8:40, has created a traffic tie-up on the freeway as an increasing number of emergency vehicles respond

How they reported it 8 is some helluva precognitive voodoo I'd like to learn.

It was not on the website of 11, 2, 13, or Chron when i posted 25 minutes later. It was on fox, i noticed after i posted.

Regardless... i thought it very breaking news worthy.. so piss off.

I had seen it before 9(a few mins...!?) on fox because the place i work at was still open(we close at 9)The chron had it on around 930 pm ish . the not very "breaking news worthy" was for the MEDIA. Did you watch how Fox showed it? Firefighters said they are ...Firefighters said...If they plan to interupt a show atleast get some stuff planned out. Mike couldn't even speak right! That's what i meant. There was nothing in my post directed to you for the "piss off" comment. Since you posted in crater houston i'd figure you didn't like the massive circus looking building as much as i did :)

Granted i know people personally who have gotten free WHOLE house furniture thanks to him so. So i know his generosity i just didn't like how he was to his staff.

  13. Havent seen it on any news outlet yet, but I have a friend stuck in traffic on I-45 north who just texted me that Gallery Furniture is currently burning to the ground.

Are you kidding? Fox interruped some show to show around 8(and non stop"its been upgraded to 4 alarm"Yeah i know what that is...) this crap...After i went a few times and heard "mac" talk to his employees like crap i left...Not "breaking news" worthy.

  14. Nothing to worry about, since you have AT&T UVERSE and a 50 inch plasma TV. :P

Yes you do when a storm comes or uverse goes out and you want to watch tv you'll be fumbling for the manual!! I said the same when IKE came my digital tv was all i had. 2 ladys at my job that know everything in the news from the night prior didn't know about digital tv. They were watching 11-0 analog that looked horrible. I said put it on 11.1 they froze when they saw how clear it was.

  15. Me,too. And that's in spite of how visually unattractive they are. I don't think I've ever finished one without grease dripping on my shirt, try as I might.

    They are tasty though.

Yeah we started calling them grease taco's they lump in the middle but they are good. In terms of food taco cabana sucks a@@ everything has that same bland taste. When they get us breakfast for meetings it's normally the watery/greasey Taco Crapana tacos. The people with no taste "Oh they are so good!!"

  16. Southwest serves a certain market and that's fine. If it works for you, great.

For me, I'd rather take almost all of my flights direct, especially when weather and other issues can cause problems on connections. To clients, my time on site with them is more valuable and important than the cost of the plane ticket.

A great example of where Southwest falls short for me is Lubbock. I cannot fly non-stop there on them. Continental offers multiple non-stop flights at decent times.

Also, I noticed you're in Pasadena, so HOU is much more convenient for you, it is not for me.

Oh i agree. Time is always an issue. I saw a much cheaper flight to LAX but had 2 hour layover and 1 stop. Not worth it. The 5 or 6 times i've flown SW i've had NS flights. Normally within 10 bucks of the flight with stops. This flight is NS and so is the return flight. I don't fly for business so i see where you are coming from.
