  1. Westchase has every chain you can think of along the beltway.
  2. Great story. Funny thing is, guess where Mr. Finger is now?
  3. Already posted. http://www.houstonarchitecture.info/haif/i...c=10424&hl=
  4. I think they are talking about where the West Building is. Hopefully no one touches the recently renovated Stowers building.
  5. Just ot be fair, how do people calculate this stuff? Why does SF sometimes have over 7 million people and another day it has a little over 4 million? Same for DC. If San Jose was in Houston it would be part of the metropolitan area. Considering Houston has Galveston part of its area I'm assuming.
  6. Anyone agree this Outpatient building part of Methodist is the slowest building ever to go up?
  7. BTW, the setup of the building reminds me of this place in Oakland.
  8. Wow. That's been up for years. I am not usually sentimental about a sign coming down but.......
  9. Is this the red boarded up looking building? I think there is a sign on the site for what is coming. Doesn't it say office and retail or am I thinking of the wrong lot? Not a full shot of the building but is this it? http://flickr.com/photos/groovehouse/384262337/
  10. This thread has created a jones to visit. I have not eaten lunch yet and I just might skip it to head to Luby's later on an empty stomach.
  11. A lot of the roads east of 288 between 610 and the beltway. Developed and rural at the same time.
  12. Good job. I can picture that although the skinny view would show except for the face of the building.
  13. On the 1600 block of Westheimer. I'm pretty sure Mid Century Modern Furniture was there before. The exterior of the place is painted all black now with a Duo awning. West of American Apparel.
  14. The Niche has a point. I HATE driving, but the one thing that will keep me on PT is that I have a gaz guzzler, my parents older Rover Discovery, plus I am an adventurous person and driving gets boring, but I must admit running errands sometimes makes me take out the car. Right now, I only take PT to downtown, the Montorse, areas on the Red Line, UofH, the Heights, to work, and most inner loop areas except the Kirby area. I take the 73 to the Village sometimes but that usually means I have to work my schedule around the time it hits the Medical Center. VERY slow bus.
  15. I agree with Red. It would have more of an impact if sustainable retail hit first but it will be nice to have a mix. How is FineSilver Gallery doing in Midtown at the bottom of Isabella? I am sure the difference is, FineSilver is unfortunately surrounded by wholesale shops and vacant lots.
