  1. One Shell is not empty. Shell's announcement of moving emptied a little over a third of the building. Their trading operation will stay and you have law offices including Baker Botts headquarters. Though currently not in expansion mode, Chevron is in consolidation mode. I would not surprised if they absorbed most of the space in 1600 Smith (One Continental center) as they have already been doing. With pending closures of some of their satellite offices their plans seems to be the two chevron towers and 1600 smith. This is not to say there is not a glut but let's look at the facts.
  2. Can someone shed light on where the project stands? As of right now the sidewalk along Main is patchwork. There is actually only gravel where the building meets the sidewalk. Additionally none of the store fronts facing Main St have doors, just windows. Do we have any detailed renderings of the building along Main St? I know several sidewalks around midtown and downtown closed for construction purposes opened temporarily for the super bowl. I wonder if that is also the case here.
  3. Unless something has changed Jeffrey Hildebrand owns this property. In fact Hilcorp had offices in this building while it was still functional.
  4. I was going to post something about this as well. Subway closed at the end of 2016. There has been what appears to be an active construction dumpster at on of the entrances on Dallas. Additionally today you can see where some of the windows at the top of the tower are being taken out.
  5. If it's anything like his "Woodshed Smokehouse" in Fort Worth I think it will be an instant hit. I've been there a couple times and always had a great experience.
  6. I was at Grotto on Wednesday last week and it was at capacity. The restaurant had its own security checking people at the door which I thought was odd. I guess it was required for influx of people and the scope of the event.
  7. They basically made the large field and stage available for the weekends events. The park, if not already closed, will close this week for completion and not re open until later in the year. I thinks its best we hold judgment.
  8. Pending this project, 3300 Main, and the building proposed across from whole foods, the HCC building would effectively be dwarfed from all sides. That is simply incredible in my opinion. I'll be that old man before too long saying I was around before it was all built.
  9. Its my understanding they typically find hotels out of the craziness to avoid distractions/traffic. I would not be surprised if the Patriots choose a similar Hotel.
  10. Some of the buildings in the park were actually lit up last night. It was some sort of blue lighting on that white structure. I am not really sure what it is or will be called.
  11. So this pocket park paid for by Hines will be for the general public? If so, that's awesome!
  12. If I remember correctly this space was going to be a residential amenity. A courtyard/garden of sorts.
  13. I think it is a grreat spot for a banner like the one's they put on the side of GRB. It seems like we can make more use of thet wall with the traffic around this area.
  14. Correct, I believe Shell only occupies roughly 60% The article quotes them putting 350k sq ft on the market which is what a third/fourth of the building? Baker Botts is another notable tenant in this building.
  15. I think this would be a great addition but better placed at the vacant corner of West Dallas and I-45.
  16. For those with nice cameras, glass roof is now visible on the backside. Pretty much looks like a glass house.
  17. So as we talk about this development and surrounding developments I have a question and it applies to this area and some other areas around Houston. What will happen to the pockets/clusters of townhomes when they are sourrounded by high rises and commercial? Developers buy out owner by owner? owners band together? It would seem this area and say midtown will have that come up sooner than later.
  18. Coming in on I-45 from the east/southeast the taller crane is starting to give the JPMorgan Chase tower a run for its money. One more jump and I think it would be just as tall. Anyone know how to look up the crane heights? I'm sure that has to be registered with FAA somewhere
