  1. It appears this will be concrete all the way up. Any industry folks able to tell us why they would choose to do so in this instance? Can't remember to many mid rises being concrete all the way up in Houston.
  2. Looking at the diagram on Skyscraperpage its looks like this one should make the first page behind KBR. Not listed yet but I am guessing it will be soon.
  3. Museo = Museum in Spanish. Since this includes a hotel and residences, is this our iteration of the Live Aqua hotel? That announcement was made in June when details were not yet available other than the Chicago version would be 82 stories.
  4. The decision to build or delay this tower will occur in the summer of 2016. It has been that way since early 2015 after 6 months of sliding oil prices. Some can hope for the best and others can think the worst but the decision regardless won't be made for almost a year from now.
  5. I've been to this rooftop bar/hotel and its great. If they could pull something off like that it would be amazing. Although the ides bar on top of The Wythe is frequented by models so not sure if it would be quite the same crowd.
  6. Sooooo it's going to look like a residential version of One Shell Plaza? Think I like the sound of that.
  7. I was going to say the same thing. The curve on the Travis side is actually very nice; just wish it had some real height to it. The top floor has a recess that could have been cool every 10 or so floors but like your name just wishful thinking.
  8. http://realtynewsreport.com/2015/06/25/energy-corridor-building-to-fetch-record-high-price/
  9. I was just at Chipotle yesterday and used the restroom with no problem. The lobby looks great! Very high end and like any complex should protect it. Made me want to look at it as my next place.
  10. Correct, it sound like brookfield has finalized all the details with tenants as far as relocation and or closure.
  11. Any new info on this? It sounds like tenants are about to start moving around.
  12. Do we have a back side rendering of this? I searched previous posts and couldn't find one. Hoping that's not a solid wall below the glass.
  13. Also the plans for the old Central Bank building called for a rooftop restaurant/bar facing dowtown.
  14. I had a similar thought but without closing the street. Just turn the IT block into another green block. Turn HC garage into another resedential building and it makes that area that much better. The cherry on top would be the IT on the block where the HC building is now. If only I had the money and clout to make it happen.
  15. For all those that still don't understand this is what irritates posters including myself about the midtown superblock site. If Mr. Campo was as savvy as some believe he is then this is the type of negotiations he should be doing. He has the perfect site for this type of arrangement but did not pursue it. Instead another developer courted a tenant and even put more money on the line to make a very lucrative and attractive development. As someone in the business world I understand the intricacies of a publicly traded company but that should not mean that you become one of the most conservative risk adverse developers in Houston. As a Houstonian I was happy with the Morgan Group developments but with this latest news I am ecstatic to have a development company with this type of vision. My only hope is that said vision becomes infections. Though it means nothing my kudos to the Morgan Group for fighting and bringing us this great development!
  16. Saw these new signs at the corner of Dowling and Polk. Anyone have any more details?
  17. Honorable Mention: Marriott Marquis Developer: Rida Development Landscape Architect: SWA and Clark Condon Building Architect: Morris Architects Delivered: Under construction now, with estimated completion in September 2016 It’s not an apartment, but you can no longer talk about pools in Houston without mentioning the Marriott Marquis Convention Center’s Texas-shaped lazy river towering 110 feet above Downtown. The resort terrace also includes an infinity pool, full-service spa and fitness center, outdoor bar and grill, and group pavilion. https://www.bisnow.com/houston/news/multifamily/10-sexiest-pool-decks-in-houston-44975
  18. 2. Market Square Tower Developer: Woodbranch Investments Landscape Architect: Kudela & Weinheimer Building Architect: Jackson & Ryan Delivered: Under construction now, with estimated completion in early 2017 One of Market Square Tower’s two pools will be a heart-stopper—40 floors up, it cantilevers over the edge of the tower. Three sides are glass enclosures, and there will be three window panes so bold swimmers can peer down to the street from the bottom of the pool. The deck will be top-quality, all granite on pedestal pavers. Kudela & Weinheimer (which released this new rendering for us) tells us it’s been particularly challenging meeting hurricane requirements on the 40th floor. https://www.bisnow.com/houston/news/multifamily/10-sexiest-pool-decks-in-houston-44975
  19. Just counted floors and looks like this one is done rising. The coumns rising appear to be for decorative effect. If you compare the pic to the rendering the top floor does not extend out in the corner like the rest.
  20. Not to fuel the fire but it would have a park at both ends so it would be a fitting name.
