As far as I know, no precise date has been set, but groundbreaking should be sometime this spring with a completion date of mid-late 2015.

I think it'll be fine as long as they don't touch the other side of the building facing 59.

If it were up to me, I'd use subway down Richmond and rail down Allen Pkwy until it becomes Kirby and all the way down to reliant park.
