  1. Here is an updated list of the newcomers to SLTS. It seems that Mi Luna has slowed in its construction though all the signs are still up. Now Open: Amici (across from the Square and Marriott) Johnny Rockets (across from Baker Street Pub) Kiss Kiss (across from Baker Street Pub) Learning Express (across from Baker Street Pub) The Right Start (near Chipotle) Sweet and Sassy (Libby Lu on steroids) Tacone Flavor Grill (first floor of garage, across from future high-rise condo building) Motherhood Maternity (near Sharper Image) Coming Soon: Dessert Gallery (near Chipotle) Mi Luna (corner of garage near Town Center Blvd.) Hemline of New Orleans (across from Baker Street Pub) Jimmy Johns (next to Chipotle) Just Add Water (next to Johnny Rockets) Relax the Back (next to Jamba Juice)
  2. Are you referring to "real" Mexican food? Or "real" Tex-Mex? I'm interested in real, cheap Tex-Mex.
  3. It's made clear in the Bible, Koolaid is optional.
  4. I think clinching home court also clinched us a win in the first playoff series against the Jazz. We needed something to give us that extra punch to get us through to round 2. I honestly don't think we have a chance in round 2 though, we need more shooters to compete with Phx and Dal.
  5. The 59N to 610N is 2 lanes. the 59N to 610S is only 1 lane.
  6. Well that Bonzi sure does tick me off! Self rightous jerk. He was supposed to be our X factor, the go to guy when Yao and T-mac have their off nights, which is about every 5th game if you'll notice. Without that third, proven, veteran option I'm not sure who can lead us through the rough patches in a 7 game series. I'm not sure Yao or T-Mac have shown that either of them can do so. I think we can get past the Jazz in the first round but I'm by no means sure of it. It's more of a "hope" really. It should be a good matchup though, especially from a coaching point of view. We could feasibly play them in 8 straight games (they are our final regular season opponent). Who's the better coach? Jerry Sloan or JVG?
  7. I love seeing the white Christmas lights on all the buildings Uptown at Christmas time. I look forward to it every year. Do they have these lights on year round downtown?
  8. No, I wouldn't consider BW8 & 59 the burbs. I consider that Houston.
  9. While we're going on perception of Dynamo's fanbase, I would agree with this statement. From what I saw in the stands at Robertson, and those who drove to Frisco for the championship game, most fans are not soccer moms and their kids. Most are adults and most of those are Hispanic. I would put the stadium downtown, Delmar, near East, or BW8 @ 59. If you go all the way out to the burbs you're getting too far out for the "fanbase" to drive.
  10. Here is an updated picture from this morning. It looks like they're working on the 5th residential level.
  11. By signing Schaub, the Texans told the league that we won't be keeping Carr. Now that the other teams know that, they'd be stupid to trade for him when they can simply wait for him to be waived. If we get anything out of Carr, it will be next to nothing.
  12. Wow, there sure are a lot of pessimists on this board. It sounds like HP all over again. You needn't worry though, BLVD will be built.
  13. It's college, they're either exhausted from studying, partied too hard, or hate their roommate.
  14. I hope you're willing to eat your words like semipro did concerning HP once this project breaks ground. Otherwise your rants and whines are truly useless here.
  15. This pic only appears to show the building at 33 floors. What's the deal? I want my 5 other floors!
  16. Why is it that your comments in every thread have to be catty and egotistical? You make yourself appear to be stuck up and elitist. Neither is appreciated on HAIF.
  17. Here is a recent pic (last week). They're definitely making progress, the garage floors are done and they're now working on the residential floors.
  18. I believe BLVD Place will be hugely successful. They have put together an urban, mixed use development that is nothing like what you see today. You're not considering the inclusion of the high rise residences, the high rise hotel, the new urban Whole Foods, etc. They aren't simply tearing down what is existing to build an updated strip center. Review the plans earlier in the post and let us know if you still think this development won't be successful, let alone break ground.
  19. While I agree that the QBs on the market haven't necessarily been proven better than Carr, except for Garcia, I do firmly believe that Carr is never going to be a successful QB. I was a supporter of his from day 1 through a lot of last season. I was one of the last to jump off his bandwagon, I am now completely off and hoping to see that bandwagon disappear into a cloud of dust. Carr is not the right QB for the Texans and we can't move forward until we replace him with someone better. We just have to get our hands on someone better. That's the key.
  20. Shoot, I'm for as many tall buildings as we can get. I don't care where they are. The more tall buildings we have the more urban we become. Critical mass, that's what we're looking for.
