  1. TO may not be injured right now but you know he's licking his wounds. His two favorite quarterbacks, playing for the team that fired him, have ascended in the playoffs while his Cowboys have failed again. Gotta love that!
  2. ???? Are you serious? The best coaching staff in college football doesn't lose their last two and then squeak by a 6-6 Iowa team that finished 8th in the Big 10. I'll need more proof that Mack can win without VY before anointing him (or his staff) anything. Let's talk about Urban Meyer, Jim Tressel, and Pete Carroll among others before Mack.
  3. The odds of all those things happening are slim to none. I doubt we'll ever see Ensberg like we did in 2005. I'm sure Loretta will be a utility guy for the infield. How about letting him spend some time at SS? Lord knows we need hitting there and this guy's defense is pretty solid.
  4. From ESPN.com: Click to view the remainder of the story.
  5. Shoot, he could go top 3 this year. Now's the time to come out, don't make the Matt Leinart mistake.
  6. The last two weeks in the NFL: Texans 27 Colts 24 Texans 14 Browns 6 Eagles 23 Cowboys 7 Lions 39 Cowboys 31 I'll take that rematch with the Cowboys now. Things are looking up in Texas!
  7. That would severly limit the usage of the dome. Why would you want to spend millions to upgrade the dome to a soccer stadium that is too big for only 20 or so games a year when there's a perfectly good plan in place to redevelop the dome as a commercial resort site to be used throughout the year?
  8. If you get enough of these establishments in random places like this, suddenly you have critical mass. I think it's great.
  9. I would disagree that one game saves his job after a season of failures. This marks his second quality game of the season, keep in mind that this is the 15th of 16 games in the season. Consistency doesn't come in one game, it comes across several, Carr doesn't even have a chance to prove consistent at this stage of the season, it's simply too late.
  10. That's the season folks. We might as well just roll up the Toyota Center floor now. There's no way that we're going to stay in contention with T-Mac and Yao out. We all said it before the season started, "if the Rockets stay healthy, they're going to be something special." Well, once again, the Rockets get screwed by the injury bug. Can we get anything for Bonzi if we trade him now? He's not worth anything to us with the other 2 down. My focus has officially shifted to the Aggie basketball team, Gig' em.
  11. Yao left today's game with a bone bruise. If he's out even a few games, we're done. We're already half a team without T-Mac, Bonzi is starting to fill the gap, but with Yao gone, we have no chance. I hate injuries, why do my teams always have to deal with injuries?
  12. I've been to this one, it is really nice. I think it was one of the first one or two true "Town Center" project built in the US. Now they're popping up everywhere.
  13. Here's a quick blurb from an HBJ article on the 1996 season, the Oilers last season in the dome. Hardly 104% capacity. To view the remainder of the story...Oilers game attendance: How low can it go?
  14. Moderators, can we merge this thread with the existing "Houston Rockets 2006 Season" thread? Thanks.
  15. I guess we'll see what happens : Sox deny Garland trade report
  16. I'm not so much concerned about Willy as I am that we're letting Buckholz go and may not be able to sign Pettitte. Unless the Astros know something about Pettitte that we don't, I don't know why we would take this guy over him. I sure hope we can still get Pettitte. With Pettitte added to the lineup with Garland, Oswalt, Backe, and a young gun, we'll be looking real good come spring training. I also think Willy is expendable. He is a poor hitter; he can't be counted on to get on base. He's a great defensive player but if he's not on the field because of poor hitting then he's not playing defense either. Buckholz on the other hand still has a huge upside.
  17. Because universities don't threaten to move.
  18. Universities don't get new stadiums. They just expand their existing stadiums. Not to mention that this was only the 2nd or 3rd sellout in years. If Art Briles stays on for another year or two though, maybe we can see some consistent sellouts.
  19. Well, at least we're moving in the right direction. We won a game "in spite" of David Carr. I can officially hop on the bandwagon now, I do not think Carr is the future of the Texans. He is not good enough in many ways and he is not improving under Gary Kubiak. Oh how I wish Rosenfels hadn't broken his hand!
  20. Here's a picture from Boris in a separate thread. Do y'all still think this building is just the grand sales center?
  21. Close. The Lions now play in downtown Detroit at Ford Field (hosted last year's Super Bowl). Also, the Cardinals moved to Glendale, AZ this year.
  22. Is this a real "Town Center" like Sugar Land Town Square and the one in Cinco Ranch? Or is it like Brazos Town Center in Rosenburg where it's just a big shopping center like the Fountains in Stafford?
  23. Let's see, winning championships you say...? Rockets 2 NBA championships Mavs 0 Astros 1 NL championship Rangers 0 AL championships Texans 0 championships in 4 years Cowboys 5 championships in 45 years Houston Aeros 1 IHL, 1 AHL Dallas Stars 1 NHL championship Houston Dynamo 1 MLS championship FC Dallas 0 MLS championships Houston Comets 4 WNBA championships Dallas 0 <no WNBA team> Other than the Cowboys, it seems we lead in all categories (10 vs. 6). Give us 45 years and we'll talk again.
