  1. I'm not too impressed, I heard he didn't even start last year for the Saints.
  2. UPDATE: Hunan and the neighboring art gallery are now closed in the Pavilion. However, America's is still open. Additionally, we already know that EatZi's is closed, well so is Blue Plate. I take this as a sign that leases are expiring and as they do, we should start seeing construction begin.
  3. Let's not all forget to be totally psyched about a $170 million retail infusion in the middle of downtown Houston! How many of you said it would never even break ground?!? I think this is a great day for our city, this is the beginning of a lot of progress scheduled or ongoing in our fair city.
  4. I like Alamo Drafthouse, it sounds more Texas and less commercial.
  5. Man, I love those rings. They are the coolest!
  6. Wow! Could we have hand-picked a better representation of national name tenants? This will be huge for downtown!
  7. That's news to me. I thought this site was always planned to have just one tower. Are you thinking of the new thread on the 2 35 story towers next to Walgreens on Sage @ Westheimer?
  8. The First Colony developers have a history of saving their most precious lots for something grand. Remember that the tract that Sugar Land Town Square is currently on sat empty for 25 years as development surrounded it. Then they decided to build an urban Town Square. The lot closest to Hwy 6 is reserved for a high rise condo, the tallest building in Fort Bend County. The lot across from Starbucks and the actual "Town Square" is most likely being saved for a big name, significant tenant once the rest of the spots have filled in.
  9. They definitely did not consider (more likely they ignored) the potential for light or commuter rail to be added when they designed the reconstruction of this corridor. It was a huge mistake, one that we'll have to pay for in the decades to come.
  10. So in the course of a few weeks we've begun the Park Tower, Houston Pavilions, and City Centre?!? Not to mention BLVD Place which is around the corner. Wow! I think all the developments we've been salivating over are finally kicking off. I can't count that high but there must be several million square feet of development in these 3 projects alone.
  11. Is there anyone out there willing to post some more pictures for those of us who don't get downtown enough? Thanks!
  12. I agree with others that the stadium should be downtown with the practice fields at Gus Wortham. How could it be a bad thing to have more families spending more time at Gus Wortham? I wouldn't see this as a detriment to the park, I would see it as a benefit for the city.
  13. Yes, that news was reported on January 23rd above.
  14. It's all just speculation right now. No decisions or announcements have been made.
  15. Damn, he looks like a giant! They definitely didn't seat based on height, the woman to his right must look like an ant from his altitude.
  16. Dynamo coming to Bryan-College Station The Houston Dynamo soccer team solved its parking problems by moving its first international match to Aggieland, where the Dynamo hope to find fans eager to see professional soccer and willing to overlook the team's primary color - orange. Dynamo officials announced Monday that they will play their home match against Puntarenas FC of Costa Rica in the first round of the CONCACAF Champions' Cup at the Aggie Soccer Stadium on March 1. View the remainder of the story here.
  17. Except that Mo Taylor was traded out of town because he really sucks. Juwan is actually good when he plays within himself. Mo's numbers never came close to what Juwan can put up on offense or defense.
  18. Alright Rocket fans, our team has won 9 of their last 10 and Yao is sitting. The next 4 games comprise of #1 in the ESPN Power Rankings, the Mavericks, #2 the Suns, then we see Denver and the ever dominant Spurs. We probably haven't seen a tougher stretch of games in years. If the Rockets can pull out even 2 of these 4, we have to deem it a success. I think it's time everybody in Houston jumps on the bandwagon, this is a good team and Yao and Bonzi aren't even back yet. They've got their best record in years and are #3 in the Power Rankings, ahead of San Antonio. When was the last time you could say that?!? Go Rockets!!!
  19. I'm so happy that T-Mac came back. I thought our season was over when Yao went down and T-mac was still out. Now that T-Mac is back to carry us until Bonzi and Yao return, we have a chance to stay contenders until their return, then we'll be championship contenders!
  20. Yes, George is still all over country radio. Here are his last 3 albums: It Just Comes Natural by George Strait (Audio CD - Oct 3, 2006) Contains George's 53rd #1 hit and more to come... Somewhere Down in Texas by Strait, George (Audio CD - Jun 28, 2005) Contains George's 52nd #1 hit 50 Number Ones by Strait, George (Audio CD - Oct 5, 2004) Actually it's now 51 #1's, "I Hate Everything" was a new song on the album that hit #1 after it's release.
