new bike paths around town
j_cuevas713 replied to samagon's topic in Bicycles and Other Low-Impact Modes
Oh yeah, I've filed 311's, contacted the Northside Management District, etc. . -
Wow what a joke. I just saw the plans Scarlett Capital has for the Jack In the Box on Navigation. They're really setting a high bar for development 😒

new bike paths around town
j_cuevas713 replied to samagon's topic in Bicycles and Other Low-Impact Modes
While I'm happy about the bike lane along Heights, I don't mind armadillos but the city doesn't move fast enough to repair those that are damaged or broken. W Cavalcade is a gravesite for damaged armadillos. I've contacted the Greater Northside a couple of times to get those fixed and that was over 2 years ago. -

Last night downtown was pretty packed with young people. I've never known Downtown to be mostly the older crowd, I've always seen a good mix -
Ahh ok duh .

That's such a lame excuse. If someone wanted something done it would happen. The city seems to be short staffed on just about everything. Either way I'm glad something is finally happening. What is UST?

38-Story High-Rise & Office Building At 2811 Kirby Dr.
j_cuevas713 replied to Highrise Tower's topic in Going Up!
I'll take a street lined with mid/high-rises all day. Hopefully more properties along Kirby will continue to redevelop, I'm personally waiting for HEB to make a move- 135 replies

I mean I'm not naive to any of this. I get it's going to take time but I guess it just made me realize how much longer we have to wait for areas of this city to see real change. I also understand this is a NEED for this city. And yeah I'm not excited about this project exceeding 20 years but it is what it is. Thanks

Wow yeah F that, 20+ years!? And they wouldn't start on the capped park section until 2031. I've been on the fence about this for a while but this schedule just convinced me this is not what we need.

Lower Westheimer Road Construction
j_cuevas713 replied to trymahjong's topic in Traffic and Transportation
It's honestly because of the HGAC. The majority of those that represent the region don't live in Houston or Harris Co. And it doesn't help that politically many of those same people hate Houston because it's a blue city, so they find ways to avoid funding Houston city projects and then later complain how Democrat's don't do anything. It's been this way for decades. -

While I'm def happy about this, I just wish it was Downtown, but this location is still great. It's better than his proposal to go out to Katy or Clear Lake- 46 replies

So council member Kubosh wants proof people use the bike lanes. He said it's a "concern" for him. Send him any pictures you have! https://www.instagram.com/reel/CrgIKN7AXTb/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link
