Dallas Skyline just voted best in World?
kbates2 replied to JasnoDTX's topic in Dallas/Fort Worth/Metroplex
I too am not trying to bash Dallas. There are many good things about Dallas. They have my personal least favorite skyline of any city I have ever seen. All preference I guess? -
That's a phenomenal idea Howard, way too go.

No, the highrise will be behind them. It is directly next to the parking garage.

University of Houston Football Stadium

Aaaaaaaaaaaand that's why people hate Aggies. *Not all, just the unnecessarily pompous ones. We are proud of our stadium, you are the rich kid saying, "Nice house, I guess I am just used to my house with 4 stories." -
I walk to work and have logged my trip for a couple of years. I have hundreds of thousands of points that almost never get used. The rewards are coupons that you can find almost anywhere.

My coworkers park there and were all turned away this morning. I walked right by it and didn't even notice.

If you don't like UH or don't care about the stadium don't comment on the thread. No need for all of the jackassery being spewed. -

University of Houston Football Stadium
kbates2 replied to KinkaidAlum's topic in Third Ward and University of Houston
So I noticed on the construction cam that a new crane went up just over the stadium lights in the North West Endzone. Does anybody know what this is for? I know it has nothing at all to do with the stadium, I just was unaware of any projects going up right there. -

There isn't a separate charge for athletic fees for UH either. I assume there will be once the stadium fee jumps on. That means that UH students could attend for free. FTW. -

Well in case we were wondering the official height appears to be 533'. Compare that to 503' for The Huntington and 501' for One Park Place. Those are the only residentials that we have that qualify as skyscrapers under the 150 meter definition. http://skyscrapercenter.com/create.php?search=yes&page=0&type_building=on&status_COM=on&status_UC=on&status_UCT=on&status_OH=on&status_NC=on&status_PRO=on&list_continent=NA&list_country=US&list_city=US-HOU&list_height=150&list_company=&completionsthrough=on&list_year=

Obviously we aren't paying for this rail so we can make whatever ideas up that we want regardless if the lack economic viability. The company paying for it would never add a College Station stop because it makes no sense from a business stand point.

I think connecting to CS is far from a top priority.

I walk these streets every day and frankly I don't think they are fully salvageable in their current state. They are in an extreme state of disrepair and will have to be moved to fix the surface. Maybe they could make similar bricks, replace them in the original patterns and fill in the holes.
