i am not sure about the whole lakewood churchfolk=vibrance thingy
-
growing up in the area, i noticed that parents and students would do almost anything to NOT go to westbury!
-
from the webpage of the church, it says they're opening the doors on july 16th - five days from now. out of the corner of my eye while flying by on the freeway, i noticed they put up the new sign, but it still didn't look "done." has anyone been by there really recently? does it look ready for the grand opening now? also, how is the immense (i'm assuming - 28,000 attendees) traffic going to affect the area this weekend and the weekends to come?

i wonder if cullen and the de menils opened flashy chain restaurants and annoyingly sold furniture - "Roy Cullen's Furniture-O-Rama" that would have been sooo cool back in the early 1900's- 147 replies

i am a fan of the buffalo bayou partnership (and it has a very diverse board) there are a number of others as well: bayou preservation association, the park people, the quality of life coalition, and the greater houston preservation alliance (yay!) it just seems that there is alot of knocking heads with these organizations and some developers (i could be wrong...)- 147 replies

i went to gallery furniture once (on a business delivery) and was rushed by about a half a dozen sales people - and really bad ones at that. (then a friend told me later that she heard he fires employees on the spot for not "attacking") as for a houston visionary - nuh-uh note - maybe there should be a separate jim mcingvale forum...har har- 147 replies

i will have to check out a "lifestyle center" before i say too much about it, but they sound kind of creepy to me... with terms like "Creating Lifestyles" and "designed to promote a sense of shelter, safety and belonging," (from the poag and mcewan site) it sounds either Sim-ish or slightly psychotic (promoting a sense of "belonging" in a shopping center...haha)

my only paranormal-related experiences had to do with cold spots in the basement (during the middle of summer). friends (on separate occasions), though, have described strikingly similar instances of viewing a girl on the third floor... i never really have been in tune with any paranormal related things, but the cold was there...! -
