X Houston: Residential High-Rise At 5501 La Branch St.
Montrose1100 replied to Urbannizer's topic in Going Up!
Y'all can like this Big Ugly Box on La Branch. I'm going to criticize it. It's missing a thin brick arch near the entrance. Randall Davis Co presents: "The Aqueduct".- 476 replies

If we're fantasying, They should partner with the Post, and make it an Intermodal Transit Center, which would really boost everything about both projects. The Post could develop more commercial space, residential, and hotels. Truly a mixed-use development. Could easily build a pedestrian bridge to the UH Downtown Red line station.

Sunrise Breakfast House - 1830 West Alabama St.

Interesting how fake plants and AstroTurf are popular design choices. We've come back to the 60s with this, new age strip malls (MKT), and some of our new apartment buildings look like the Lamar Tower. -
Midtown Restaurant And Bar Scene - More Coming
Montrose1100 replied to WestGrayGuy's topic in Midtown
I'm sadly aware. Wish they would use a closer substitute. Instead they use the vinegar heavy ones đŸ¤¢ Will have to go back for lunch!- 1,137 replies

Midtown Restaurant And Bar Scene - More Coming
Montrose1100 replied to WestGrayGuy's topic in Midtown
I was told they were better during lunch. Went during Dinner and the bread was concrete. Also, I really dislike the heavy vinegar sriracha sauces they use. Pho Binh also switched to Tabasco brand and it's not good.- 1,137 replies

16-Acre Mixed-Use Development On South Post Oak Ln.
Montrose1100 replied to TowerSpotter's topic in Going Up!
The last one looks like it's in Downtown Raleigh, with some Uptown Houston building friends. -
Guilty. So I spilt all the NRG comments including mine to https://www.houstonarchitecture.com/haif/topic/55-nrg-park-mixed-use-development/page/10/

All they need to do is paint it white and add more exterior/interior LEDs. Enhanced cellphone coverage and it will do fine for many more decades while looking as snazzy as the others. Edit: Sorry, derailing this thread.

It could use some TLC on those tight little turns. Plus the general space down there is devoid of any human touches. Feel like you're riding a tram into an underground lab (Half-life or Resident Evil style).

Can't believe they did Tarka Indian Kitchen dirty like that. What an outdated info map. Shouldn't expect anything less though, the snippet map/MS Paint job speaks volumes.

The Citadel: Affordable Housing At 3353 Elgin St.
Montrose1100 replied to Highrise Tower's topic in Going Up!
Are you talking about affordable housing, or every single newer apartment complex in Houston? - The Greys (Windsor, The Travis), to the Grey/Khakis (Boone Manor, Venue, Sovereign, Regent Square, Alta River Oaks, Elan, Wescott), the Blue/Greys (Bellrock, COOP, 1011 Studemont, Windsor, Azure, Vic), the Red Brick/Grey/Blue (Azure, Pearl Washington), Reds seem to be more focused around UH.- 37 replies

Seeing the Union Station platforms is sad. How tall we still are, yet incredibly more dense.
