TMC Helix Park: Texas Medical Center Bio Research Campus
Highrise Tower replied to Mab's topic in Going Up!
Several of the master plan renderings include a bridge across Braeswood leading onto Brays Bayou Trail. However, I think they are just visionary, I don't think that it's actually planned. Maybe upon final build-out in 10 years from now? This would be an excellent idea! People walking a long the Brays Bayou Trail could take a bridge to TMC Helix Park. Let's get on it.. Renderings featuring the bridge.- 1,229 replies

Construction update this week. This week I noticed stairs are going in at the bottom of the front-center core. Also, the new floors look to have the smallest cantilever over the podium. Very cool design! Let's go!!

CBRE has updated the retail leasing brochure. I do believe a small coffee shop is already planned for the campus. https://www.cbre.com/properties/properties-for-lease/retail/details/US-SMPL-129473/texas-am-innovation-plaza-6919-main-street-houston-tx-77030- 545 replies

TECO updated their website the other week. Their TMC Campus map has been updated and features TMC Helix Park! https://tecothermalenergy.com/customers/ While looking over the map, I noticed a small energy plant at the UT Research Park complex. Weird, I never knew this even existed. Also amazing that the Research Park requires it's own energy substation. Those 5 research buildings must consume tons of power. (Similar to what CenterPoint Energy is doing to support TMC Helix Park.) The small energy plant is hidden. I tried to find any TECO markings or signage but the building is pretty inconspicuous. Photos of the plant I took this weekend. I believe this is the plant at least.

The YouTube algorithm is amazing. Found this Italian techno producer named Puccio. Really wild stuff. Would love to watch this type of music live in person. Any Houston venue options for this type of music?

What are the odds that Tillman Fertitta uses his resources to make gambling legal in Texas? He now owns a whole campus in Uptown. Perhaps, one day, a casino will be built on his campus? As I always say, I wish Texas would use the taxable revenue to build more infrastructure, etc. Legalizing gambling would bring lots of money to the state.
