Jonah
Has anybody heard or seen anything about this development. I went to the website www.kings-harbor.com and it looks to be something pretty decent looking. Along the lines of the Sugar Land and Woodlands town square but with Lake Houston as a back drop. That should make it stand out a bit from the others. They should put some harbor so boats could dock at the entrance. That would make it really appealing. I've always wondered why Clear Lake hasn't done anything like this yet. I would figure being so close to the water would make it a worthwhile proposition. Anyway the developer of this Kingwood project is the same group that recently purchased Town & Country mall and plans to turn that into a mix use project.
texasboy
http://www.kings-harbor.com/ I can't even put into words what this would do for the Bayou revitalization near downtown, but I guess the suburbs these days have to have their little downtowns too. Isn't the Woodlands getting something like this aswell? While we get stuck with little or nothing .....Go Stros
MidtownCoog
It's actually in the Houston City Limits.
texasboy
wow. its even further than i thought. it's even far from the fall creek subdivision in humble, which is a long drive.

MidtownCoog
15 miles from Fall Creek to downtown.Much quicker than going to Kingwood.
RedScare
On a generally uncongested freeway, in a well forested area. I have often wondered why this section of town hasn't filled in quicker.I suppose Northeast doesn't sound as sexy as Westside.

Kirzania
dear lord... what will they do next. ugh. this makes me sick. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Don't complain. It could be worse. It could've been a strip chock full of CVS and Walgreen's.
kjb434
This will be great for the Northeast side of town. I always thought that Lake Houston could be much more than what it is currently.

The Great Hizzy!
Good for Kingwood and good for the COH. Premier properties such as this can only help the overall tax rolls. Actually, aside from all that, it looks like an intriguing development.
jkosmin
Has anyone heard about the Skylake Village that will go up in Kingwood? The Town Center is said to be bigger than The Woodlands', and the entire development (condos, retail, restaurants), will be about 2 million square feet! Link: Kingwood.com Discussion with links to more infoI would love to have a bigger commercial center in the Kingwood area - I think it's been underserved for too long. The developer will be Zane Segal. Does anyone know anything about this guy?
MidtownCoog
This sure sounds a lot like the other proposal for a "mixed use" village on Lake Houston Parkway north of Atascocita. Can't remember the name of the other one. Something like King's Something or the other.

jkosmin
Kings Harbor - trees are already cleared, land has been leveled, and they're installing some kind of plumbing now. But it has been slooooooooow...
houstonfella
I heard that Tilman Fertitta is involved with the financing somehow but did not want his name out there. If this is true, then it will get done. Now this is just a grapevine thing so don't know if it holds water.

Guest Plastic
Bigger than the Wodlands? I hope you don't mean the entire development of The Woodlands.
Sooner&RiceGrad
Woah, hot dogs. Skylake Resort will have 200 guest rooms and suites, a spa and fitness facility, tropical pool, an extensive conference center, and ballroom. Skylake Village will be one of the largest suburban town centers in the Houston region at nearly two million square feet. Three and four-story urban-scale buildings with retail and restaurants on the ground floor and condominiums and offices above I didn't know that Kingswood had 65,000 people...?!! Skylake Island, in the midst of over 40 acres (17 hectares) of lakes, will be the center of commercial life, with sidewalk caf
Kingwood
This is going to cool for Kingwood:http://www.kings-harbor.com/"The landscaped pedestrian streets, multi-level central plaza, play fountain, public art, waterfront walkway, and community events combine to create a unique environment to live, work, shop, and play."
