That must be on 9201 North Loop East Frwy! That's where theirs a Chevron Gas Station and Truck Stop! A Subway Restaurant moved from the other side of the frwy! I've been a common customer of Hardees when I lived in Travelers Rest, SC near Greenville, SC as a Gateway Elem Sch Student!

Carl's Jr was identical to Hardees, its the same chain operating with two different names due to historical reasons. As you probably noticed they didn't make it here.

 

Hardees was good stuff back in the day. I lived in far south georgia near northern florida(Tallahasee was about 30 minutes away) for a while growing up and there were lots of Hardees down there. But something happened to the chain. I had it a few years ago travelling in the south and wasn't impressed.

Zoning ordinance for Chevron property in Bellaire expected to move forward in 2021

Bellaire is close to a formal proposal to establish a special zoning district for the former Chevron property at 4800 Fournace Place, Bellaire, and the Bellaire Planning and Zoning Commission will revisit the item in January.

Meanwhile, a new 1,700-car parking garage is about 60% complete, according to Danny M. Sheena, developer for SLS West Loop LP, which has owned the property since 2018.

Plans call for new retail, restaurants, a gym and a theater.

Even with the approval, construction would not start for another two years, Sheena said.

Bellaire council approves new mixed-use district, with amendments

The approval came after a nearly six-hour special meeting on May 24 by city council designed to hammer out any additional amendments to the zoning document ahead of a vote.

The council approved several amendments to the zoning language before approving the new district as a whole. Restaurants, for example, were added as a contemplated use, while the council voted to strike not only payday loan institutions as a contemplated use, but also indoor movie theaters.

The council also amended the zoning language to increase setbacks from 35 feet—as recommended by the city’s planning and zoning commission—to 65 feet for commercial properties that border residences along the district.

The shell gas station at 5910 WLS has now closed.  I saw some digging today.  Gas station redevelopment?
