JaphetCreek
The old fire station a block south of Champ Burger (best burgers in the East End) on Sampson St. is being restored along with six turn of the century homes saved from the townhouse dozers and moved to lots neighboring the fire station. The best part is that the investor financing this project is moving his family from West U to the East End to live there. Great move in so many ways!
Naviguessor
Well there goes the neighborhood. (kidding) Any idea about what the Firehouse will be restored to become? It's a sweet little Property. Residential, I suspect.
intencity77
Well there goes the neighborhood. (kidding)Any idea about what the Firehouse will be restored to become? It's a sweet little Property. Residential, I suspect.I read that the owners are renovating it to live in and friends of the owners are buying the historical homes. It will be sort of a quasi-historical setting with the six historic homes surrounding it. Funny thing is, I've passed that area many times and I've never noticed that old fire station before! Anyway, it's good to see some interest in Second Ward.

NenaE
The back side of Fire Station #2 (one location, the stations are renumbered, reassigned quite often, in Houston's history) and old houses.
ephernan
Just went by there and renovations have begun. Can't wait to see the final outcome. I grew up by Settegast Park and plan on moving back to Second Ward once i build my small cottage home.
