IronTiger
What restaurants are being demolished?Well, if that map is anywhere close to being accurate, there's a big gap of just a parking lot where the now-closed Denis' Seafood House is/was. (Maybe it's already demolished. I don't know.)
Urbannizer
I haven't kept up a lot with Memorial City development, so please be patient with me as I ask a few things: - Where was the Whole Foods supposed to go? The area shaded in brown.
brijonmang
If you go into the office at the Treehouse, they have a few models built of the whole development. In those models, the brown area is shown as a residential high-rise. Probably in the 20 story range. They could be outdated by now but that's what they have on display. Houston19514
Aha! It will fit in PERFECTLY with the other buildings. Memorial City is the absolute worst. Hope another developer comes in eventually to distract the eyes. Yeah, why couldn't they build something more like this beauty? Montrose1100
Yeah, why couldn't they build something more like this beauty? What Hampton Inn's version of the Granduca? Why not? Slap some blue LED's on that sucker and call it a day! (Still looks nicer than ZaZa). Edited October 20, 2015 by Montrose1100

Motis B Totis
Guad is the only resturant that will be left standing, Ciros was in the way and will get moved, Denis' Seafood just wasnt makeing money and was paved over Liberty Kitchen is taking forever to move in to the Rub's old spot Supposedly the Whole foods deal fell through The planned green space keeps getting larger, probably because of the sucess at city centre
79ta
so this will have apartments too. interesting... MetroNational, Memorial City's developer and sole owner of the hotel, will dedicate four stories of ZaZa to apartments, 130 in total. In addition to enjoying the hotel's perks, residents can relax in a separate, private pool. http://www.chron.com/neighborhood/memorial/news/article/Hotel-ZaZa-Memorial-City-to-bring-chic-vibe-to-6610059.php

Urbannizer
Came across this old model of the master plan. http://www.gensleron.com/work/2016/1/18/an-outlook-on-the-future-of-visualization-a-qa-with-scott-de.html
Houston?
Well, the model is almost accurate.
Urbannizer
Well, the model is almost accurate. Almost accurate in that half of these structures already exist. It's not old per se, but more like what was proposed previously, the plan before the current one. Hotel Zaza in the model is just above the parking garage for Nexen and residential appears against the parking garage along Memorial City Way. They've ditched this concept and placed the hotel in the center of the site. The hotel contains residential units but there looks to be more in the former master plan. Parking garage along I-10 has also been scrapped; not sure what's the latest on the NW corner. This is the previous design that is featured in the model: And the current site plan for reference:

skwatra
I noticed the tower cranes for this construction have the same blue led lighting on the booms as the completed buildings around it. Too funny...
mollusk
Perhaps MetroNational is really run by Smurfs. That would also explain the strange appearance and secrecy surrounding the top floors/crown of the Transformers Tower.
Triton
The fitness center should be completed soon. They've gone to nearly every business in a MetroNational building trying to sale it.. Apparently it's for employees only who work in the Memorial City area.

Motis B Totis
I imagine this green space will be similar to the green space that is planned next to Hotel Zaza The Square at Memorial City – Fall 2016 The Square at Memorial City is an all-new green space that will be located on the west end of the mall, outside Ice Skate USA and between The Cheesecake Factory and a brand-new Maggiano's Little Italy. The 4,000 square foot outdoor venue, complete with a 28' X 14' high-definition video screen and attractive water features, will be the new home for culture and entertainment in the Memorial area and West Houston. Each week, The Square will offer family-friendly events that are sure to delight your sense
