Highrise Tower
A rumor is Bed Bath & Beyond is closing. They occupied a lot of space. Wonder if Fidelis will subdivide the space or if another big box retailer will move in.

TheEvilBlight
Bed Bath and Beyond definitely has clearance signage. Asking around on Nextdoor murmurs pointed to higher costs causing them to not renew the lease. Go figure. I wonder if Palais will follow?

The 95,000-square-foot store will offer traditional H-E-B offerings, in addition to a slew of kosher offerings, including a dedicated bakery, butcher, sandwiches, and coffee shop, plus sections stocked with kosher frozen food, seafood and dairy products, said Hugh Sintic, manager for the new location, in an announcement to the Bellaire Business Association on Thursday. The new two-story building will house 712 parking spots on two levels. The store will sit adjacent to JC Penny, and the two will share walkway space on the second floor, Sintic said.

Highrise Tower
Stopped by the H-E-B grand opening today. Very big store. 2nd biggest in the city following the Bunker Hill store. Good price on beer. They're doing a special grand opening Meet the Brewer for a few of the local Houston breweries.

gene
I wonder if that means they are moving from the Galleria location (which we already knew...) but NOT relocating to another uptown/galleria location!? I thought for sure they would find a way to stay in the area (like the zadok's location or possibly even the old ethan allen location)... interesting!

I like Micro Center, but preferred Fry's as the one on 45 North was more conveniently located for me. Unfortunately, Fry's has been circling the drain for some time now and their in-store inventory is a mere shadow of what it used to be. And the new Micro Center location is even less convenient than the old one was, so more often than not I wind up just going to my preferred online tech retailer (Newegg), unless I need something the same day.
