SilverJK
All man-made structures will return to the earth, eventually.People who cherish their old homes should sell them to local government entities - where they can be preserved "forever."Let everyone else live in freedom.are you suggesting the pyramids were built by aliens? kylejack
I met a traveller from an antique landWho said: Two vast and trunkless legs of stoneStand in the desert. Near them, on the sand,Half sunk, a shatter'd visage lies, whose frownAnd wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold commandTell that its sculptor well those passions readWhich yet survive, stamp'd on these lifeless things,The hand that mocked them and the heart that fed.And on the pedestal these words appear:"My name is Ozymandias, king of kings:Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!"Nothing beside remains. Round the decayOf that colossal wreck, boundless and bare,The lone and level sands stretch far away.
RedScare
This thread has convinced me to revoke my petition signature for the historic designation for my neighborhood. Asking the City to restrict my property in such a way that a panel of my neighbors may unapologetically refuse me permission to improve my property unless it meets their sense of appropriateness, combined with the suggestion that I sell my property if I am not sufficiently appreciative of their disapproval, has soured me on this whole 'historic district' charade.
sevfiv
I would perhaps do the same. And if I were the homeowners in question, definitely NOT buy in to a community where there are strong restrictions (if I had alteration plans). Tricky Matt
After the controversy caused by the demolition I hadn't heard anythng regarding the owner's plans to rebuild. Looks like they've started. Any Info??
sevfiv
All I can find is that "Joy Homes" is the builder on the permit. There is a Joyce Homes in town, but the address and phone number don't match up.
