TJones
"From: Heights Native, now living on 8 wooded acres on Cedar Creek just south of Bastrop." I just assumed that's how your name came along. How wrong.Just made my name up. I'd been using it befor egetting to HAIF though. I can't help but say your name with an "Apu" (from the Simpons) accent to it. You should try it, it sounds much better that way.
RedScare
I have NEVER called you a Commie-Bastich !!! Socialist loving do-gooder maybe (i.e.) your misty-eyed love for all things Obama ! (BLEH!) ricco67
Apu !!! The Quikie Mart store clerk. Who needs it? My name was also a good bit a lack creativity. Every time I wanted to use a name, a pun on my name, it would be taken. So I just typed up with a drunk friend called me once and have been using it on some forums since....the 67, eh...just in case I needed it. houstonmacbro
Self explanatory for me. I am always called Bro for some reason by family and friends black or white (Hey Bro...) So I live in Houston ... and I use a Mac.
Mark F. Barnes
My Parents gave it to me when I was very very young....like about 5 minutes old. Over fifty years later I still use it. Never been fond of aliases. It's pretty ironic though, because I am forever giving other people nicknames. People like Almost Famous Phil Harrison (great guitar player), Dirty Dick Simmons (great engineer), and Primitive Dave Caldenour (professional hermit and recluse). Just never real had one myself. I'm sure a lot of people have had a few choice descriptive ones for me, but they've just never made me aware of them. At least he didn't refer to you as the Rusty Hardin of HAIF Red, Rusty is a real prick now. I liked him better when he was just a plain old Asst. DA in Houston bumming a free lunch in the tunnels below One Shell Plaza.
tanith27
Like many kids, I was always a fan of Star Wars. The name Tanith is the name of an obscure Star Wars character from the old newspaper comic strips that came out in the 70's. During the 80's in my teen years I carried the name into the Dungeons and Dragons realm and that was the name of my Level 20 warrior elf. Then as I moved to college in the 90s my avatar took on many different roles in computer RPGs. I added the 27 because its my birthday. http://www.starwars.com/databank/character...hire/index.html

NenaE
My "NenaE" Haif name is my great-grandmothers name. She was a huge presence in the East End of Houston, moved there in the early 1900's, lived there, in the same house, for 60+ yrs. She was very active as a civic leader, had the Central Park library dedicated to her, in Magnolia Park, in the 1960's. Her life story is listed under the "100 Years of Magnolia Park" topic, under East End.

editor
You're a neologism. Thank you! And why are you hatin' on memes? I always hate new words. It's the writer in me. Well, that's not entirely true -- I like new words that are funny, or necessary, or clever. I just don't find meme to fit any of those categories. I find a little irony that the French word meme means "same." I also get uppity every six months when the "new words in the dictionary" list comes out. I'm older than I am. Kirzania
Ha. Red, I never knew! Sort of makes sense.. I guess. I join tanith27 in his infinite geekdom. Kirzania was my first ever Beast Master on Everquest. I took her over to World of Warcraft in time. Got her up to 70, eventually. I don't recall how I picked the name. Perhaps one too many clicks on the random name generator button?
