  1. HAHA That's a great idea! Count me in on the Haif sight-seeing party wagon!
  2. WOW! This building really looks great now!
  3. WOW! That's quite an ambitious plan for the energy corridor. Their are some really great ideas in there.
  4. Damn! You got me. I meant Centaur.
  5. No it was definitely moving. It's actually a person and a large dog walking in tandem but it looks funny from afar!
  6. Did anyone else see a Minotaur at approximately 3:00? What the hell is that in the middle of the screen?
  7. I don't know about Sugarland but we have several Park & Ride locations in Katy. Actually they are so popular that they are out of parking and are going to institute a lottery system for spots. http://abc13.com/news/katy-area-park-and-ride-faces-parking-shortage/736535/
  8. I'm in. If anyone wants to send me their info. I'll send mine back. (Pay no mind to my avatar. I've been meaning to change that.)
  9. 99 Cent Store, Big Lots, Burlington Coat Factory, Ross, Dollar Tree, Family Dollar/Dollar General, and for all your downtown grocery needs; Aldi! Let uptown have all of the high end shopping. The downtown "value" retail shopping district! Come on, it'd be great!
  10. I'm surprised to see so many power lines in the renderings. Don't they usually take them out? I like the look of the building though.
  11. Your Keyboard: Dirtier Than a Toilet http://abcnews.go.com/Health/Germs/story?id=4774746
  12. It looked from the renderings that this would be a block sized base with a tower built on top. But from the above pic it looks like they're building the tower portion from the ground up and building the base separately connected into the tower. Is that what is happening here?
  13. I don't even think the redesign would look that bad if we weren't comparing to the original renderings. If this were an entirely new project it would be a fine addition to downtown. But after seeing the early design this definitely feels a little... deflating.
  14. I feel like a masochist every time I open any transportation related thread on this site. Why do I bother? I think to myself "updates on the University Line Thread, maybe it's going to start sooner rather than later" but nope it's always politics, straw men, bickering, and horrible stereo-typing! Have I finally learned my lesson? Probably not. Carry on.
  15. The new Sam's Club opens Thursday November 6. I think they're having a sneak peek on Wednesday, 5th from 5 to 8 pm.
  16. My wife and I were looking for something very similar. We looked for nearly a year before finally settling for home in a subdivision with a large yard. Acreage has become prohibitively expensive. I wish you the best of luck.
  17. It would be even better if this info were at the top of each page.
  18. The point the article is making is that the growth of the greater Katy area will create stress and a need for continued growth on the school system of Katy ISD. It uses an example to illustrate the problems facing the community and school district. The example being that the residential population living within the boundaries of Katy ISD will be greater than the population of the city of Pittsburgh and also larger than Pittburgh ISD population (I would assume). I considered stating something to this effect when I posted the article but I thought to myself "No way this immediately devolves into an argument over the semantics of city/isd/unincorporated area boundaries. Everyone will certainly understand the verbage used comparing the two entities was designed to illustrate the challenges facing the city and not actually refer to the town of Katy being larger than the city of Pittsburgh, right... right...". I was wrong. You win again interwebs!
  19. Article in the Chron about the rapid growth of the Katy area. http://blog.chron.com/katy/2014/09/katy-will-be-larger-than-the-city-of-pittsburgh-in-two-years/
  20. Btw, does anybody have a subscription to the chronicle? I'd like to read the article on the $1.5 billion dollar study on south Montgomery County... http://www.houstonchronicle.com/neighborhood/woodlands/news/article/Study-1-5-billion-needed-to-ease-congestion-in-5764802.php Highlight the title on the webpage, right-click, select "search Google for...", then click on the article in the search results and it will open with the entire article available to read. Or copy the selection and paste it into Google's search bar then you should be able to read it after you select it from the search results.
  21. This is quickly becoming a very serious question with all of the development uptown and suburban style street grid that is already gridlocked. It seems like something will have to change with the streets at some point.
