SkylineView replied to swtsig's topic in Uptown and Galleria Area
Thanks for the info. -
A trailer has arrived and been parked on the east side of the site. It looks like this could be starting up soon.

Are there still additional floors left on this? Or has it reached the top? -
3009 Post Oak: Office Building At 3009 Post Oak Blvd.

3009 + the two residential buildings from this weekend. Taken from the Best Buy... which just 'reopened' (though candidly it never closed). It does look better than the dungeon it was before. -

Pearl 21Eleven: Multifamily At 2119 Westheimer Rd.
SkylineView replied to TexasGeneral's topic in Uptown and Galleria Area
You can certainly build right up to the gas station... (think about Wesleyan & 59). I wouldn't want one facing that way, but that's my choice.- 115 replies

Highway 59 - 610 Interchange Partial Rebuild
SkylineView replied to LarryDallas's topic in Traffic and Transportation
I have to believe that this plan (59 / 610 partial rebuild) and the Post Oak redo are somewhat intertwined as part of the right of way acquisition around Richmond seems to require a re-alignment of Post Oak. Hopefully the two teams are talking to each other and it all gets knocked out at one time.- 292 replies

Houston19514... your post forced me back into the interwebs to see if there was a report on it somewhere... and there is. From August 2012 (boo yah), and with every possible detail, alignment, and proposed schedule of construction. The trees DO stay, or rather, get relocated and sup'planted' with a bunch more trees. http://www.ridemetro.org/AboutUs/Board/working_meetings/2012/082312/Uptown-POB-Transit-to-METRO-Committee082312.pdf The image from Nantes may be a good goal... but I just don't see that much play-ground on Post Oak if they keep three lanes each way. According to the diagram on slide 35, the typical width for everything (non-intersection areas) would be three medians (10ft, 6ft, and 10ft) plus two 10ft bus lanes. 46ft total? I'm guessing they are going to eat up some more real estate on each side. That said, I like this proposal. I live and work in the area, so I won't be going to the transit centers, but I would absolutely take it to get further south down Post Oak from where I live... though I can't imagine I'll still be here in 2017.

I remember reading about this development almost a year ago, and then it disappeared into the mist with everything else that started going on nearby. 277 units... 4 stories on top of 2 levels of garage. It's now u/c. They are knocking all the old buildings down. (Link to additional info... http://www.bizjournals.com/houston/print-edition/2011/12/16/former-houston-multifamily-developer.html?page=all)

Not sure if this is the appropriate place to put it, but it seems like buses are the current way forward. I'll be honest, I'm sad to see the median go. It's a great feature of Post Oak Blvd. While the street isn't exactly "pedestrian friendly", having a few trees and plants is preferable (in my opinion) to adding another two 12ft lanes of pavement. That said, I fully respect the need for transit development, and prefer it now before we add another 5,000 local residents and 2M sqare feet of office space. http://www.chron.com/memorial/news/article/Uptown-district-proposes-transit-project-3893349.php

Tower crane on site today (not sure if they'll get it up with the rain). Post Oak is absolutely nuts with construction.- 113 replies

Has anyone else seen the MOUNTAIN of dirt they've built on the west end of the site. I assume they have some deal with the city that they can only remove it off-hours... (hence the 3 dump trucks each way per light on the weekend), but it's seriously huge right now.

Just as an aside... the number of dump trucks going in and out of the site is intense today. I was at a light when four went in... and four went out, and saw more or less the same going home. Looks like they've decided to knock the earth moving bit out this weekend.

Am I reading this correctly that they would propose bus lanes down Post Oak Blvd through the Galleria? http://www.yourhoustonnews.com/river_oaks/news/metro-reviewing-uptown-transit-plan/article_0b04ed4a-f797-11e1-834e-001a4bcf887a.html
