The Sagemont one isn't the huge beacon I thought it was going to be from 45, but it's still...huge:
-
I drove by there earlier today, too, and the sign facing westbound traffic was blank, and the eastbound had the South Pointe information like mentioned above..

I combined the threads, but if there is an interest in Perry's at La Centerra having its own thread again, I can undo it...

^ I'm pretty sure living in Sunnyside is not an option

Hey all,
I have a quick question about neighborhood recommendations for a friend from those that may be knowledgeable about areas in the south-ish (or nearby) areas of town.
To shed some light on the subject, here's a rundown of the situation:
-Two adults - one working near Alvin, the other in the medical center
-The Alvin commute will also include drives to UHCL a couple times per week.
-Looking to rent, ~$1,000
-Type/amount of space is flexible (two bedroom or one with study/flex area is ideal though)
The middle ground seems to land around Friendswood/Pearland, but since the medical center commute is with rush hour traffic, closer in is okay. That seems to be right around Sunnyside, though..
TIA

I wonder if the three acres is a good buffer from the bad and depressing..

^ I keep feeling the bread thing too...Panera, panaderia, etc.
Or maybe even the Airstream Panamerica!

And the rims on that BMW are hideous.

I wonder what's preventing it from selling at that price for so long (considering it started at $300,000).

Star Foods Investors Group has signed a deal to open 40 Carl

I found out the same thing.
Also, somebody on another board came up with "Smiley's" prison information and believes he is now paroled and living in League City, since a people search they did turned up an Elbert E. Homan, age 42, listed at a League City residence. The TDCJ link is broken, so does anybody know how to verify this? I can't find anything. Homan's info is below:
I also found a League City residence, but there is no date attached to it (probably the same address found by the poster in the other forum). As of today, the home is owned by a Donna Cones.

And right next to "topic title" is the "forum" tab when using the "view new posts" button.
I live out in the Katy area and I grow tired of these posts. We need a bookstore, we need a Chueys, we need a pappasittos, we need a container store.
We don't NEED anything. And do you think someone is going to read this forum and say OH, what a great idea let's expand in Katy because Joe Schmoe needs a cafe express within 5 minutes of his house.
I don't mean to be a negative nancy, I think it just clutters up the forum. Also I grow tired of reading restraunt reviews on HAIF. People go to ww.b4ueat.com for that please.
Discussion about retail, restaurants, and other establishments (especially neighborhood-specific) are welcome. Yelp posts as well as book reviews are stated as such in the post title, and the OP of this thread clearly states what this topic is about. As always, you are welcome to NOT visit any thread that irritates you.

That's typical for high rises - missjanel is probably right.
The Lamar's maintenance fee is about $1140/month for a 1700 square foot unit, and the Huntingdon is around $2,000/month for some

Enough with any type of personal attack and back-and-forth bickering..
(oh, and the irrelevant digressions such as the types of degrees you have/don't have and the usefulness of such )
Let's keep it on topic, folks.
-
Definitely call and see what that ~$120/month goes toward.
Interesting building and decent interior, though...
-
While you may have different opinions and have more knowledge of this house, please do not resort to name calling.
I agree that the realtor is to blame for the pictures, but that is all we have to go on.

I saw this permit, but didn't know it was a Staub estate

With the few crummy pictures of the exterior, it's hard to even start to guess.
I guess if a home is under a certain $ point, the camera phone shots and embarrassing expose of the current tenants' messiness is standard.
-
It's not the nightlife in general - Old Sixth Ward is old enough to have had a lot of different neighbors and a mixture of residential, retail, restaurants, bars, and industrial is nothing new. The issue is the behavior of the patrons - more specifically the fighting, littering, peeing, vomiting, drunk driving, etc on the streets in this neighborhood.
I can imagine waking up at 2:30 am to drunks in front of your house or someone vomiting in your yard can't be too pleasant...
