well, the APLD released an official response: from the email: It is important to the Board of Directors of APLD that the public understand that the organization of APLD does not support discrimination against clients based on sexual orientation. It is unfortunate that the actions of a former member were taken to represent the entire membership. With that said, APLD's official statement and position regarding this situation is attached.

here's the fox article referenced: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,222279,00.html and the morgan quitno site: http://www.morganquitno.com/edpress06.htm

you are correct - it's only in the email, which i or anyone else cannot prove was written by them (or not) - yet. as far as cease and desist letters - they're used to confront an entity that has allegedly made unauthorized use of copyrighted material - i would wonder what that use would be?
-
probably using the APLD name on the website, since they are not affiliated anymore - which might ultimately show how they stand on the issue so, assuming you identify as heterosexual, how hard was it to choose against your homosexual tendencies? (since sexual orientation is a choice, and all)

well, smoking helps to damage artery walls and leads to atherosclerosis, which in turn makes it easier for fatty deposits to stick around - also, some chemicals in cigarettes can lead to plaque build up in artery walls...

Houston Comets Maybe Leaving?
sevfiv replied to Houston1stWordOnTheMoon's topic in Sports and Stadia
with comments like "I have a lot of great memories here. But I still think we'll have a team here in Houston, Texas, in '07." and "Comets' owner would like to see them stay here" do leave a small amount of doubt about the team's tenure in houston -

http://www.bizjournals.com/houston/stories...16/daily23.html According to the city, its Forfeiture Abatement Support Team, consisting of personnel from the legal department, Houston Police Department and city inspectors, has developed extensive evidence that the clubs are responsible for common and public nuisances that threaten the safety and quality of life of the surrounding neighborhoods and businesses. Specifically, numerous offenses involving violence, drugs, and weapons are attributable to these clubs, the city contends. The three clubs are commonly known as Max's, Player's, and Big Yo's. forfeiture abatement support team?

http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/headli...iz/4267211.html by nancy sarnoff? The Icon's room rates, which now hover in the $180 per night range, will increase as service and demand improves, said Charlie Peck, president and chief operating officer for Destination Hotels & Resorts, a Lowe affiliate that will take over management of the hotel. "I think the rates will definitely be higher when we feel like we've earned our place in the market," Peck said.

i think this would be a good time for folks to post good landscaper alternatives, so that when people read about this obviously troubled person, they will have other options (and of recommended places). _____ okay, i checked out the gallery and before/after shots - sophomoric at best, and like something anyone could do with fifty bucks and a free afternoon...

not sure how many years, or if it's really important (?), but from memory the 1950s-ish maps had the parallel streets... my point was that it made an interesting shape, for whatever reason the streets were skewed - if anyone knows when or why that happened, please share!
