And two years later, nothing
Visitors to The Grand Texas River Walk will be beamed into a grandiose complex that will be contain an impressive virtual Alpine and Arctic world. While no timeline has been identified to begin working on this grandiose project, it is expected to begin construction in the coming year for a 2009 opening said the company behind this project, Unlitimed Snow.Oh well.

As I was clicking the thread I was wondering why the hell they needed to renovate, but actually that seems pretty cool!
At least they are updating and investing more money into it.
Still, it would be nice to know what the heck is going on with the glacier exhibit though. Over a whole year any nothing as far as an update.
Maybe this project is using the funds allocated from the glacier.

Post Ike damage and some updating to be done.
Done in multiple phases, modifications to the pyramid will include a new entrance, a walkway that will lead guests through the canopy level, new vantage points, new plants, birds, animals, fish and butterflies. As in the past, there also will be access to the lower levels of the exhibit.Moody Gardens expects the full enhancement to take two years, and a grand opening is planned for early 2011.

+1 for you.
Probably the best post I have seen from you. Thank you.

So Metro posts a non update, update.
Thought I would share the news.
September 2009The question was asked; When will construction start? We at METRO know that you are anxious for the Uptown Light Rail project to get started, and so are we. As soon as there is an update with definitive information we will let you know. Thanks for your patience, and thanks for your support of the project.

Looks like the mustache will be back on air soon.
And anyone notice that Keith Scott left the morning show at KHMX to be replacef by Rick Stacy?
It's like a revolving door there.

Well, for the FM 2920 location, it was short lived. We ate there a couple of times and the food was good, however passed by a few days ago and it is all boarded up. What's up with that?
Well, where the heck will Jesse and the Rippers play?!?!?

After 12 years in Houston and 7 1/2 years flipping houses here, we are moving out of state. Keep up the good work HAIF'ers!
flipper
Don't act like you will be going to someplace without internet.
Just because you are leaving Houston, does not mean you have to leave HAIF.
You know you will be back on HAIF.
BTW, the rental house turned out amazing, thanks for selling us the paint.

Why would you blur something you are using as a visual aid in a question. How the heck can we answer your question ?
I think the point of the billboard is that you can see the image from far away, and not close up.

How about a fun "non-Ike" topic.
Talk Like a Pirate Day is only a few days away!
Do y'all know what tomorrow is!?!?!

# 5 has been tossed around for years and is nothing new. That "slogan" is almost pure plagiarism. Guessing someone did a web search to come up with that one.
Honestly it would be sad if that ends up being the "winner". You shouldn't be able to do a web search and find your 'new winning Houston slogan' from web pages 3+ years ago. That would only reflect on the "unoriginality" of the people on this site.
Too lazy to post a Debbie Downer photo, but you get the point.
-1 for you.

The first and fifth one have my votes.

This afternoon Council Member Anne Clutterbuck and Parks and Recreation Director, Joe Turner, Upper Kirby TIRZ and Management District Board Chairmen and others will dedicate the first set of new trees to be planted on Kirby Drive between Richmond and Westheimer.
From the press release:
It's gonna look amazing.
200 gallon trees is not a bad start.

Did anyone post the construction cam, yet?
Nope, but this was probably the best quality construction cam I have seen.
Great find.

My wife checked out a couple of movies this past weekend at blockbuster. She got the daily rental and it was $2.99 per day. What a rip considering there are redboxes all over the place. Last time we rented from blockbuster it was $1.99 for first run movies (still too expensive) and $0.99 for older titles. With pricing decisions like that, it's no wonder they're having trouble.
It was some summer promo with the $2/$1 pricing.
I think they lost money on that.

Awesome! I'll be working overseas for a about a month and half starting next week... It's going to be awesome to come back to downtown with (hopefully) HP hoppin (lucky strike, mia bella, cork wine bar, 3 forks, etc... open!) and the DG area becoming very vibrant. Seems like it has taken HP 1 year to get going but it's going to be awesome coupled with discovery green and the surrounding developments...
Another hotel will bring tons more activity to the HP. Anyone who does not have a car and walk around!
Go Houston.

Jax's shot puts into perspective the relatively minimal impact DT has on Houston's skyline.
Dude, really?

Amen. That may be the underlying issue with this entire site slow down...
He's been reborn as IronTiger. . . geez Louise y'all.
I see no difference guys.
It's just as busy as it has been.

-1 if I could.

Keep up with the program, champ.
I see, it was in the status update, well that's just silly.
The reputation essentially is useless, kinda sorta.
24 Hour Fitness Gyms

The new gym had it's soft opening over the weekend, the grand opening is going to be in 3 weeks.
A comment though, it claims to be the 33rd new gym in the Houston area, yet it is only replacing the gym a few doors down. They could have worded it better as an improvement, rather than an addition.
