  1. ^^^ He's two more games from being without a team and possibly out of the NFL. He's now backing up a guy Carolina picked up from off the street. Shame.
  2. I agree with Jax. Particularly, department store buildings with a dearth of windows is a bane. I feel the same way about the Sears in Midtown.
  3. Every week there's a post with a flimsy, crybaby premise that sparks a discussion that's essentially a revised (but weakly vailed) version of the redundant "why isn't Houston like Chicago, Boston, etc" discussion. Detroit used to be like "Chicago, Boston, etc..." so suck it up.
  4. I have don't have problems with the Spur. Anyone living in a large metropolis and expecting an open country road flowing into the CBD is probably expecting a bit much. Relative to a lot of other freeways emptying out into DT, the Spur seems to be working relatively well, IMO.
  5. ROTFL! Head on over to Oakland. I'm serious. Don't be put off by all the data on crime and whatnot. Jack London Square is cool by itself, but the view from Oaktown to SF is pretty sweet, too.
  6. I'm starting to like the affect, though. It seems to give the building more perspective when approaching it from a distance.
  7. Staggering to think about. Of course, I'm comparing the developer's bank account and assets to mine.
  8. I guess it's one thing to smell it on ocassion as you pass by and another thing to smell it for hours on end while living next to it.
  9. Well, after driving by this morning and seeing the sign posted on the property, I can definitely confirmt that it looks a LOT like the Hobby Center design, except the roofline is curved rather than angular and it doesn't look to be as tall. The color scheme and window treatments are very much the same, however.
  10. Steve was definitely under control when he drove to the basket (although, he did take a third step that wasn't called ). The main thing is that he knew what he wanted to to and executed it. The highlight of the night for me was the little dance of emotion after the block on Marion. That was hilarious. The Rox could use more of that in-game emotion, IMO.
  11. I'm glad Memebag brought up the point about crimes per capita, which is a much more relevant statistic.
  12. I'll definitely be trying to look out for the new renderings when I'm in the area. This is very encouraging.
  13. Some may feel as if Turnberry's exterior designs are too familiar (which, I can't disagree with) but they provide a great range of amenities and, from what I've seen and heard, put together top quality projects.
  14. If I'm seeing this location in my mind properly, it "seems" small. I'm assuming a greater part of the parcel stretches out under the foliage that hangs over the bayou in that area?
  15. It really comes down to how much confidence you have that the area will continue to grow and expand with new housing, retail and so forth. If it's sketchy now, do you think it will stay that way. Consider yourself a potential pioneer!
  16. I would love to see renderings of it. I've been trying to imagine what the building would look like, given what would be surrounding it.
  17. That's what I was thinking, too. Glenbrook Valley might also be a good option but it has a pretty uninspiring string of townhomes square in the middle of it plus a stretch of unspectacular apartment complexes closer to the airport, otherwise the homes are lovely.
  18. The mystery grows... I'm trying to get an idea of what property that might be, though. Seems a couple of miles west of the Galleria on San Felipe would be about Voss. There's already a pretty good amount of activity underway at that intersection.
  19. DAPIMP! I had a University of Florida personalized plate before I moved to Texas. I think the vanity plate thing in Florida trumps Texas $65 versus $40.
  20. They may just have to sit and "deal with it" after all... http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/front/5287614.html
  21. This thread is utterly hilarious, and the usual suspects are along to post in ways that don't even leave any mystery behind their intent to make you laugh at the ridiculousness. Downtown Dallas more vibrant! Brilliant!
