I understand that yall may want it more accessible to the masses. But it was built there because of what occurred there. This isn't a statue to relocate, this is a pretty massive structure taller than the Washington Monument. It would probably be easier and cheaper to build something similar where you want it( like the traveling Vietnam memorial AKA the moving wall-it's like it but smaller) You can do what I plan to do..... just find the time and make an effort to get my bum out the site

25,000,000th MetroRail boarding
Houstonian in Iraq replied to editor's topic in Traffic and Transportation
Some people have an all day pass, month pass, a transfer...... so you might not always see people go to the machine. From the times I've ridden it, Metro has checked to see if people have paid at least once along the ride. The guy sitting next to me got a ticket, his pass had expired two hours before they checked -

The second I saw the number I called from here. The lady just took down my name and that I was for rail on Richmond. I was biting my lip to keep from calling him a jackass- 4,315 replies

Yeah it does get pretty nasty out there during Christmas. I remember a few years back two women literally fighting for a parking space at that mall

Isn't that the reason there was a hesitation in installing seatbelts in school buses? That they could cuase more harm than good. That in a fire all those kids could be upside down strapped to their seats and not be able to get pulled out in time

Thanks for the pics Jason. At first I was a bit skeptical about how it might turn out. Their past work doesn't look half bad. I would really like to see the old dome take on a new life.....even if a bit faux..... it's something else for people to see and do while letting the dome live on. PS welcome to HAIF cosmo (last name wouldn't happen to be Kramer? )

Well I'm not in Iraq anymore. I came up with the name while there and stuck with it. The way I see it I'll be back soon (for the third time)so no need to change it every other year. Maybe once the war is over I might do LOL nice one Red- 4,315 replies

When around other Americans I always say Houstonian. When I'm asked by anyone else especially here I now say I'm from TX. I use to say I was from Houston but I would always get a blank look (I think it's the American accent) now I just say TX and most people get that. Some times though I need to defualt to my third answer and say American. Then I just get one of these
