  1. Besides the containers and fencing(believe someone mentioned) what other equipment is there? Any pics?
  2. That's the Dallas stereo typical elitism for you(kidding Dallasites ). Anyways Houstonian born and raised here. Wish my son could of been born there, instead he was born in New Jersey(thanks to my deployment). And my daughter will be born here in Manchester. Hopefully within the next year or so we will all be back in Houston to stay. I will always stress to them that they may not have been born there but were raised there and there for they are Houstonians(Texans) I know several transplants that have claimed to be Texans now, that's perfectly fine in my book
  3. I live in a mostly Muslim neighborhood. And no they are not evil most are law abiding citizens just like any demographic. But like in the US they are changing many neighborhood and towns. Unlike the US they are doing this fast(at least much faster than home). Something that's being done is the children that are born and raised here(UK) usually end up marrying a foreign born person and bringing over entire families with them at record rates. At the same time Europe's "traditional" families are dwendleing at least one or two kids if any compared to the traditional large muslim families of an average 3-6 kids or more. As for hardcore, a lot of them do become Westernised. The same would also go for what's going on in the mid east(from what I have seen). Hardcore fundalmentalism I believe is very much present in both places. Note: Didn't have time to read article or spell check
  4. One of my soldiers just graduated from that class. I haven't had a chance to talk to him. HPD has been hurting for a long while. I was debating about joining, the department just has a really bad rap(from the officers I had talked to)besides my wife would kill me before the criminals
  5. Very nice pics. Great to see that you are back to your old shutter bug self. Looking foward to more
  6. There are some still shots leading to his execution and of him dead in the Chron(slide show). If you click the associated press link there is footage of him getting walked to the gallows and noose put around his neck but not of him actually getting hung.
  7. well, looks like the Lone Star won't be rising this New Years here's why
  8. While in the UK I had no access to the forum from any computer. I went through most of the steps outlined by 2112. I really did think that there was another incident and the forum was down. When I arrived back to the states I was delighted to see that everyone was still HAIFing. Well, I go back this weekend and hopfully HAIF is running smoothly there. If I don't post for one to three months yall know that I have no access and am soarley missing all my fellow HAIFers
  9. Happy Belated B-day!!!! Hope it was better than mine. Spent it traveling all I got was a four hour lay over in Paris and four pat searches (yeah I know, could of been worse and got the full treatment )

  12. Was really Happy to see him leave. Would of like to see him leave a long time ago though. I personally think his departure is too little too late. Oh well, drive on
  13. No prob . Agree with DJ, would of never met my wife(had my son) and met all the great friends and had all the very unique experiences and even been away from home long enough to miss Houston to do a search to find all yall cool HAIFers. Never regretted joining the Army Sorry for th late response. I was netless for a while in the UK(kept on getting an "error prohibited..."message when I did try to pull up the site)Trying to catch up on a months worth of forum stuff(missed y'all) In town for a couple of days enroute to AZ for some training
  14. Good question, I'm sure people just want to get it over with and move on and not drag out one trial after another for years
  15. Here are some pics for those out of town(like me) or those that never make it downtown(taken early Oct)
  16. Was this pic taken right behind Crockett Elem.?

  18. Yeah I noticed this too. this pic was taken about a month and a half ago, looks like they were trying to conserve the oak trees, maybe for the new park PS Happy PUMAPAYAM DAY TO ALL!!!
  19. I remember being in Kuwait during Halloween '02. This civilian guy we knew went all out for his costume. He spent a least a grand on a Sharper Image Star Wars Storm Trooper outfit for the costume competion. He thought he was sure to win. He lost to this female who took off her govt issued sheets off her bunk and used it as a toga. We did have have yelling down the street "The Iraqis are invading!!" and having our friend run up and down with Storm trooper gear and rifle.
  20. Mine's simple. I'm a Houstonian and at the time when I signed up I was in Iraq and couldn't think of anything else
  21. MIDTOWNCOOG Yeah I snapped a couple pics before I headed out of town yesterday.
  22. One 2 year old son(very low maintenance, keeps me on the straight and narrow...simply an awsome kid much better than I ever was at his age) and another baby(don't know sex yet) on the way
  23. Noticed that the Rockets kicked San Antonios bumb The regular season hasn't started yet has it? Dont have time to check(curfew in place....yes curfew ) and way out of the loop here. Now if they could just keep it up and STAY HEALTHY
