  1. I hope that in a few years, the entire DG area will be surrounded by high-rises..
  2. I agree with TheNiche, having its own transit agency is a bad idea for the city. No matter how much Sugar Land expands, it will always have ties to Houston, so might as well use the same public transportation.
  3. I would't call this war a joke. Obviously it's not as bad. The reason there isn't as musch war effort from everybody is simple, this war is not A WORLD WAR. So before you diss this war, try to remember the whole world is not invloved.
  4. i don't know if its been mentioned before, but i know that i tried to google discovery tower , and it would never have its own website. Well it does now... http://www.discoverytowerhouston.com/
  5. Oh, and I might as well post these pictures..... first my favorite , the petrochemical/ refineries skyline with hotel
  6. Out of the 2, its obviously Dallas, but if San Antonio were an option, then I'd pick San Antonio for sure. Very big tourist destination in Texas, imo.
  7. thanks, the majority of the reasons i dont like rainy/cloudy days is because in an area like the museum district/hermann park/ect theres alot of things in the background that would be more clearer to see if it werent so cloudy. for example, if it were less cloudy you would be able to see the tower clearer
  8. yeah i'm really proud of this one, probably my best animal photography image, ever it was perfect timing , the duck kept following me around as if i had bread, but i shooed it off, and it decided to go into the lake. and that's when i took the picture
  9. not everything, its whoever donates the most or owns the property or makes huge contributions ......
  10. Im guessing so, when i went yesterday it had little donation booths about the museum's second century , and i'm pretty sure the donation booth had a picture of the duncan family wing.
  11. Well, some asked for pictures of the renovation of the Pasadena Public Library and i deiced to take a few pictures, and some others along the way. Unfortunately, I didn't get the Post Office, the Bank of America building, and the buildings behind CVS Pharmacy. The old Bank Tower is a deppressing image, so i decided not to get a photo of that. Some days are are rainy, and some, like today, are sunny. So some of these were blind shots that i hoped turned out ok. 12. Good news, for a moment i actually thought this thing would get demolished.
  13. I visited the Houston Museum of Natural Science and took pictures on one of the worst days possible, but since i don't visit that area often, i decided to take pictures. Just watch out for the occasional blurry picture, and off-angled picture HMNS Sam Houston Statue/ Views from
  14. In my first post, it said something about that the museum was only built for 200,000 student to visit every year. Today over 500,000 students visit, so it might be that they didn't have enough classrooms or learning centers. That might be the reason for it being a family wing? but my guess is that its because of the Duncan Family.
  15. Well the library has reopened, but i quote"Final touches are still needed and some services are not quite ready for the public so the library will be open with limited hours while final adjustments are made.", so the hours are Temporary Library Hours M - F 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. When i went last week it said these were March Hours.... I'm hoping to bike over there tomorrow, and take pictures of the renovations from the outside, they'll probably think I'm a weirdo if i take them from the inside.... Maybe I'll even take pictures of the new Pasadena Police Dept since they're next to each other....
  16. HMNS@100: Celebrate a Century of Science Thanks to burgeoning demand for the Museum's educational exhibitions and programs, we currently host 500,000 schoolchildren annually
  17. From the Citizen: Local park and ride gets a boost By MARK FLEMING Updated: 02.26.09 Harris County commissioners on Tuesday morning approved their part of an agreement between the county, the city of Pasadena and the Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County to begin Park & Ride service between Pasadena Town Square Mall and downtown Houston.
  18. This was probably posted before, but a refresher nonetheless for that area of Hess/Discovery Tower
  19. In my eyes, since i live there, the only thing that needs to be fixed is infrastructure(including sidewalks), demolition of worn out, archaic buildings and structures[some exceptions], and give makeovers to some existing buildings and structures, some form of public transportation, soon to be provided by METRO, maybe even a little park(like right next) to city hall with a fountain, some nice trees, and some benches. Also do away with old signs, implement new ones, likewise with the telephone poles. Then it will look good. Almost all the buildings the city owns or operates in are good, like the new Police Station, new addition to the library, and well, City hall, as much as i would like it to be rebuilt is hidden by the trees so its OK. The Schools in North Pasadena are good and some new, and have even demolished the old Southmore Int. One thing to help the TS Mall would be to put a theater where Dillard's used to be. But, i would put the entrance where the loading dock used to be,that way itll be as far away as possible from the Sears Entrance and the Food Court Entrance , in case some mallgoers are annoyed by teenagers.
