why did harrisburg get so hard to cross? the train hasn't even started running but the light has already been timed poorly. no wonder ridership is down.

They're now consulting with Chris Frankel (formerly Anvil) on cocktails. http://www.29-95.com/restaurants/story/checking-out-cuchara?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+houstonchronicle%2Fcookstour+%28Cook%27s+Tour%29
too bad

they told me they had already been open and made changes to address complaints. not sure that worked well.

Went by the Goro and Gun place last night. Supposedly official grand opening. Not sure they'll last long based on what my friend ordered. Scallop was 10 and ramen was 11. It was as if the food was more of an experiment vs something that had been thought out carefully. Part of scallop I tasted was overdone/rubbery and the ramen had too much going on for it to be tasty. This is definitely only going to be popular with the foodie crowds who all go to the same places.
Lame.

it got really packed and with only one bartender basically impossible to order a drink.

Here now. Good little crowd.

Unforunately some of the people that are "finding out" are douchebags. I don't think I've EVER asked for a menu at a bar.

Yeah the 80's were a blast there. The 2000 reincarnation was a step down. Last time I went was when we had a happy hr there.

mold can easily grow on concrete. if you think otherwise you are mistaken.Mold needs a medium to grow on, so unless the mold is on the back of the sheetrock or on wood, its not mold. Its not going to grow on the bottom of the tub or on bare concrete.

guess you missed the spine. It opened today. Almost anything's worth a shot, so I'll probably check it out.

I agree with Redscare but I will give the place a try.

not sure if citizens have heard about the complaints with the current administration. A recent email regarding the "perceived lack of response from the annise parker adminstration" was recently distributed. it was sent to the mayor, councilmembers and 20 vocal citizens and i just happen to be one of the recipients. I asked her spokesperson, jessica michan, to clarify the details and she was quite perturbed. pothole maintenance was my gripe and the photos of the before and supposedly fixed porholes really had coucilmembers stirred up.
perhaps this was part of the "feel good" news conference our Mayor felt inclined to have yesterday.

My parents had that too but it never was stinky. Does the water tend to linger in the area just outside the house? If so that could allow more moisture to track under the tub

One of those bums did thousands of dollars in damage tonight. Businesses on franklin, 200 to 400 travis main, etc. Customers chased him till police got there. Tons of broken windowsNot really. You leave them alone - they leave you alone. Bums are one of HAIF's biggest red herrings.

This would be for the better good of the overall population, to help people get from place to place in a cost and time efficient manner.
METRO is not an organization that does anything in a cost and time efficient manner. They've wasted over 100 million on the 2 lines that haven't been built. That money could have been used to actually help our transportation concerns.
HCAD Appraised Values 2013

Sometimes it takes about a year for the county to get its act together and have all the properties reflect the same prices/sq ft. I have an unimproved lot that has increased in value every year for the past few years. the first year i was going to complain but then realized the adjacent ones were more than mine was. but the next year, mine was raised even more to match the surrounding properties.
The county likes to raise land value because it is basically impossible to protest.
