  1. If you actaully think Free parking will ever happen you have another thing coming. Parking is a huge source of revenue for Reliant Stadium. Giving away that will never happen.
  2. The site mentions that Lovett charges a 6% fee from the buyer. This seems unusual to me. The seller almost always pays this fee. I have seen some pretty nice stuff by Lovett and almost purchased one. It was a townhouse that was already lived in. It was a little out of my price range so I bought a Perry. I had no problems what so ever with my townhouse. I hear a lot of bad things about almost all the builders in Midtown and intown Townhouses. I guess I was lucky.
  3. Walnut Bend. Just off Briar Forrest right outside the beltway. Right by Paul Revere Middle School. The crime is not bad there has just been an upswing lately. Everyone is crying Kartina. Who knows.
  4. It could be a seven line joint. These are like slots and basically give people the ability to blow their meager paychecks on gambling. There are also quite a few poker joints around town. I know of about 6 and have played at three. It amazes me how open these places are. I spoke to the owner of one and he told me that vice leaves them alone as long as no drugs are being sold, there is no prostitution and underaged kids are not allowed entrance. This particular person has been in business for 12 years without a single incident from the cops. It is amazing the hospitality they provide. Free dinner - BBQ, Steak, etc. They also provide free cocktails, beer and even wine. My place has Crown. It is all free - which makes TABC not care. Good stuff. Too bad I am not very good at Poker and over the years have dropped a few g's at these places. You would be suprised where these games happen.
  5. Classic. A bit non PC, but I love it. You nailed it. The crime increase in my neighborhood started after Katrina. Damn Hurricanes.
  6. SO many to choose from, but I had a blast at the Monster of Rock show at Rice Stadium back in 1988ish. Lineup in order of appearance: Kingdom Come Dokken Metallica Scorpions Van Halen It was awesome (except for Kingdom Come who sucked ). Best show ever for me Roling Stones in Prague circa July 1995. It was outdoors in an old stadium. Estimates were that 120,000 people were there. I would not know as I was about 30 feet from the stage in a sea of people. It was a once in a lifetime deal for me. Too many people. I have seen the Stones in Houston on 2 other occasions and neither show was even that good. In fact the show last December was downright boring (and way overpriced). Never again will I see the Stones live.
  7. 65% dixie. I call it Dr Pepper. That is what I drink !!
  8. Please take back the element that is ****ing up my neighborhood. !!!!
  9. This is it is great. But if you want the tastiest ribs in town hit Greens on Almeda. Yummy...
  10. it never is as good as you remember. Antones is another place that was magical as a kid but now just tastes OK.
  11. that is cool. I met my wife at an apt complex that was built in 2000. I guess I have a long ways to go before that is torn down...
  12. Anyone tried Christians on 1-10 and Wescott. It is behind the Denny's. I was taken there yesterday. It is an old dive place, but the burger was exceptional. Try it sometime !!!

  14. Many of the big releases play on more than one screen. Look at the times. If a movie is playing every hour but it is 2 hours long you know they are playing it on more than one screen.
  15. If the Millionare did not care about profit it would probably stay open. If he was trying to make a return or got sick of covering the losses he might just close it down. If these were profitable (for new construction) there would be new ones opening up. Quity frankly they are not profitable and the ones that are still open are most likely living off prior success or berely ekeing by. I am no expert on the subject, just my opinion.
  16. I have never seen one of those in Houston. I am sure they were around at one point, but I am pretty positive they have no pressence here now. James Coney Island always had the market for dogs.
  17. I was thinking the same thing. If they are building 2 new High Schools out there is a need for a hospital or two.
  18. Those darn Librarians. They are always screwing things up.
  19. Might as well just call the schools Cypress #9 and Cypress #10. I am pretty suprised there are 10 high schools in that area. If you would have asked me before I read that post I would have sworn there were no more than 3 H.S. in Cy Fair.
  20. I always tip. I usually just give it the person who looks like they did the most on my car, but I also have the issue of who to give it to sometimes. I am pretty sure they pool their tips at the end of the day, but I am not sure how they protect from a dude slipping a few $5 bills in his shorts. I am just glad it is not me out there in the dead of summer. I am not sure this is a worse job.
  21. It is interesting to compare the two lists. I always thought Rio was bigger than Sao Paulo. I was way off. Largest Cities - Without Metro Largest Cities - Metro
